Thanks for the update concerning the chart position of “Beggin’” on the British music charts. Let’s hope the newfound popularity of this sensational song can cross the Atlantic and land it on the charts for a second spin on it’s home turf. And as Howard noted earlier, that would give Frankie Valli at least one charted hit in each of the decades from the ’50′s through the ’00′s! And let’s not even speculate the chart records it might achieve if it can reach the summit and hit number one!!

As I recall, the remix of December, 1963 (Oh, What A Night) began by getting play in clubs also, as much as a couple years before it hit the Hot 100 again in 1994. I remember being stunned when I first heard the new version on the radio around 1992. I was stunned again when Frankie Valli announced in late Summer, 1994, in an interview with the late J.P. McCarthy on WJR Detroit, that December, 1963 had reentered the Hot 100.

I haven’t followed the British charts in years, but remakes and reissues used to appear quite freqeuntly on them.

A reliable source from England tells us that the latest sales data till Thursday evening now indicates that “Beggin’” has moved up into the top 30 (i.e. somewhere between 21 and 30). We hope to have more British chart news coming soon.
