And congratulations to Steve Holden for succeeding in getting a Coverville podcast to feature the music of Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons, a well-deserved honor! Among the more interesting selections from the broadcast were a recording of “Sherry” done instrumentally by Santo and Johnny of “Sleep Walk” fame and performed in a similar style; New Wave singer and actress Lene Lovich with her 1980 album cut of a British charting hit by Frankie and the Seasons from 1975; and an unintentionally hilarious rendition of “Let’s Hang On” by the inimitable Mrs. Miller. In all, there are eight cover versions of material originally sung by Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons included here. It is definitely worth a listen, so sit back and enjoy (or in some cases tolerate) this musical feast!
