LynnM, just the mention of a Philly Cheesesteak makes my mouth water. I have tried and tried places here in Houston that spout the name, but YUCK! Usually that is my first meal when I visit back home. You lived in a wonderful area. OK back to JB, I am glad to hear that there pic are in the flyer. I do wonder why Philly is not one of the tour stops. Perhaps by the time I get back there for good. Anyway, I can't wait till I can report back on my London experiences.

phillygalp - I loved living in Philadelphia - we lived a bit out of town overlooking Valley Forge National Park - beautiful area. I spent much time in center city watching the Philadalphia Flyers. I miss Philly Cheesesteaks in South Street !!

I was born in Philadelphia in 1946 (I'm an oldie but goodie) and never lived further from downtown Philly than 11 miles until I moved here to Houston in 1999. Looks like I may be back there sooner than expected as there are some company transfers heading to the Wilmington Delaware area. If that happens I will be heading for NY as soon as possible to see the NY cast.

Your seats for Jersey Boys London are 100% perfect - just the right distance from the stage. I have sat in both circle & stalls and my preference is definatley stalls. You will love the show and I can tell you - you will not be dissappointed with the accents - all the guys are amazing!

What about Ryan talking about 'an usher pinned to the wall' during the performance, for telling people to settle down?! I hope he was just kidding. Now that's something we've never seen here in NY !

I hope he just meant people got excited and worked up during "Workin' My Way Back" and then it took time for them to settle down.

I saw the newest London video that contained Molloy's CTMEOY... I used to think he was close to sounding like Frankie... Perhaps the 2nd closest to JLY, that bit, however didn't do it for me. I have liked him on the higher falsetto stuff, but not on that bit part. It actually sounded strange.

Does the London show have their own program or do they use the NY one as they do with the tour?

ritap - Thanks for the comments. I am getting so excited about my trip and especially my JB show. My seats are 8th row center in the Stalls. I hope this is far enough back to get a good view of the goings on. It is so different than the US theaters. However, just to hear the dialog and the music again will be so wonderful.
I have seen a few "Frankies" and they have all been wonderful. Each adds their own "twist" to the characterization. Again, thanks for the info and I will report when I return from London.

Well that's a nice compromise, but I kind of hope he changes plans and decide to do a full OLC.

Hi Philly You will have a brilliant time when you visit London to see JB Speaking as a Londoner who now lives in Scotland I saw a preview on 1st March and have been hooked ever since.You may not know that Frankie Valli was sitting a few feet away with the

Well said stubbleyou! The London cast, as well as every other cast of Jersey Boys, is full of amazingly talented people. They all are different but still awesome in their own right.

I'll start with this caveat - I would be thrilled to see the London show and I am SURE I would enjoy Ryan and company, and frankly it's not that important to me who sounds more or less like the real Mr. V., to whom I've been listening for 46 years, as long as they sing well, which of course they all do or they wouldn't have gotten the part.

Chris Jones, for example, has something special in his voice that I really like, something about the way he sustains a level note perfectly level in a way no one else does, including the real Frankie (sorry I can't describe it better - I don't watch enough American Idol). I LIKE it and I LIKE hearing a masterful singer show what makes him a master, within reason. None of the Frankies fool me into thinking I'm hearing the real deal. And though that holds true for Rick Faugno as well, there ain't NOTHIN' negative I could come up with to say about his performance at the Vegas opening.

That said, and back to the subject, Ryan does not sound as much like the real Frankie to me as several others do, and he puts in a few extra notes and intentional "frills" (again, not enough Idol, sorry) that stylize his rendition a bit further away from the originals.

This is not a negative comment at all, just an objective comment from someone who fools at least himself into thinking he has a discerning ear. (After all, Bob Gaudio, whom I am still giddy over meeting last Friday, thinks really highly of Ryan from what I understand. How wrong could he be?).

June, definitely please post your opinion. That's what this blog is for, for us to all come together and share our opinions and love of Jersey Boys. Just in case, I'm sorry if I ever offended anyone. No one has said anything, but I thought I'd make sure.

Sorry, I had no idea I was harrassing you. Just after numerous posts about how we should love all of the casts... You even started a thread asking everyone to love all the casts, which was, in my opinion, preachy. I now am seeing that you didn't mean it that way..
