I was in Times Square last weekend, and saw Jersey Boys was on the TKTS board for Saturday night. Not sure if this was because of the holiday weekend or a regular occurence. Hopefully, this is not indicative of overall ticket sales in NYC!

I think the Broadway prices are adjusted a bit at times...whether for groups or certain obstructed view seats, thus keeping the seating percentages healthy. Makes sense to me. Law of supply and demand.

Australia has been offering discounted tickets for quite a few weeks now. They have closed the dress circle except for Sat/Sun shows. When I was there in May I was very worried that the theatre was less than half full during the week. The premium tickets (producers choice) are $250 which is a LOT of money. Still, I guess this is the way things are with the downturn in the economy down this way. Dr Zhivago had only been open for a couple of weeks in Sydney before they closed the dress circle. I just hope that the Sydney JB will be like that bunny with the batteries - keep going and going and going.

Offering discounted tickets is usually not a good sign, although I don't think Jersey Boys is going anywhere for a long time. I have yet to see Wicked and Lion King on the list though. That said, all three shows have been the top three in gross sales the last few weeks now, with JB at nearly 98% or better. I wonder where those discounted seats are.

They are row G orchestra seats. If you are interested in purchasing these tickets, or have any suggestions on the best way to sell the tickets, please email me at jlbNOSPAMfan2009@gmail.com.

ScarletRhapsody, that was quite some good fortune being on the flight with JLY!! Did you say hello?

So you got Sunday matinee tickets ahead of time, rather than SR or cancellation tickets? Am I reading that correctly? How were your seats? Let us know when you post the photos.

Kennedy1--if it is very important to you, there is always the option of buying tickets in the cancellation line that day when you can first check the board in the lobby. Great seats, normal price; just the disadvantage of waiting, at most, a couple hours in line.

Okay, I'm back from my New York trip!

Thanks everyone for all the helpful tips. This was a rather interesting story. I tried for mobile lottery, but we didn't get it. Instead, we ended up watching Chicago. We did get our tickets for a Sunday matinee. The significant other surprised me by treating me.

We had a delightful time! I'll post pictures of stage door fun times. We ended up with Taylor Sternberg as Frankie (looks like Jarrod was out of town, it's cool...seen him a few times before) and Jake Speck as Bob. I'll post pictures once I get everything processed.

I also pointed out the Brill Building to my s. o. since it was next door to where we saw Chicago.

And John Lloyd Young and I were on the same flight to JFK. Yes, that JLY. The actor. Who knew? And Erich Bergen and I were in the same terminal on the day I was leaving for Long Beach. Of course, I found this out when I got home. Why is this cast following me? LOL! XD

I have a Broadway question, also. I would like to take my daughter, who is away at school, to NY to see JB. It would either have to be during her December break, or the first week in March during spring break. Is it too soon to know how long Jarrod will be there?

I have been going to JB on Broadway for several years now. I recently saw something at the box office I had never seen before. About 2 hours before the show, a large line formed outside the theater. It was not standing room only tickets. Instead in this line, you were able to buy non-premium tickets for that performance. Usually these have already been sold by this time of each performance. They still kept back some premium tickets at this time though in hopes of selling them just before the show. Another think I have also noticed is that the line waiting for unsold tickets turned in just before the performance begins is so much smaller than it used to be - perhaps only 6 people as compared to 25 people. You can always now be guaranteed of getting a premium ticket for normal price in this line. JB is still sold out on Broadway, but it is much easier to get a ticket than it was two years ago.

People do get in line early for the standing room only tickets and there aren't a lot of them maybe 10? Just ask at the box office when to line up. I usually get in the cancellation line at least 2 hours before the performance. Never had a problem getting premium seats for regular orchestra price. So it all depends on how well you want to see the performance, either front or rear based on the price. The stage door gets crowded but the cast does chat with everyone while signing autographs and there's plenty of photo ops as you can tell from what has been posted in JB World. I do not believe there is any merchandise exclusive to the Broadway cast. Have a great time and let us know about how it went when you return.
