I love the Jersey Boys because when I've had another not-so-great day, I can pop in the CD and immediately feel better. :)
"Who Loves You" works the best for comfort for me.

PS. I hope that didn't sound all weird. But my reasons are a bit more....they don't necessarily have to do with the show itself. Believe me, I love the show to pieces! The lines, the casts, the costumes, the sets, the songs..everything! But I have other reasons and I listed those above. :)

Didn't see this thread....
I love the Jersey Boys because it has brought new and lasting friendships to my life. There was a period of my life when I didn't believe that my dreams would ever come true. I'd begun to lose faith in everything I believed in.
When I first discovered St. Therese of Lisieux, I began to be enlightened, but I still needed a true friend. It took two years...but I have that now. And that friend is special and means the world to me. That friend has led me to tons of other people like me and given me hope.
I used to think there was no reason to fight in life. Giving up was once my only option.
Now, I think a bit differently. It's not just the show, but the people in and connected to it. What they've done. Who they are.
They've changed the world. Just by being there for the fans and letting them know that they truly care. It's a blessing in disguise for all of us. God bless every single human being on Earth for life is the greatest gift.
That's what I see now.
And that's how Jersey Boys has changed my life.
I'm not saying my whole life has been terrible, but I just didn't have the best of friends. People change with time and that's what hurts. So I'm glad I found this forum. I think I've made frienships to last. :)

I keep trying to understand why I feel so emotional about this show. I just think it has it all. It does not matter where or what cast is involved. They are all so talented and the story gets to your soul. I was very lucky to be a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons fan way back when. The show has brought all those wonderful memories back to me and I thank the creators and the casts with all my heart. It will be something that I will remember fondly for the rest of my life. I will try to see the show whenever possible as long as it and I continue.

I love the Jersey Boys simply because of the way it makes me feel. I find it's more than going to a show. Most shows, you go, you watch, it ends, you go "that was nice", you listen to the soundtrack now and then, but that's about it. Jersey Boys is an experience, it gets in and sits in your heart. When Jersey Boys ends, it's a sad moment because you want it to go on forever. You feel like you are living the lives of these four men right along side with them. You laugh and cry with them, feel the exhilaration of the success and the pain and heartache.
Also, when I am having a hard time, or find myself in a bad place, I know that listening to Jersey Boys will help make it better, even if just for a short time.

You're right, Jody. Irene's catchphrase describing all of the Jersey Boys fans before we met in NYC was pretty much "spot on", not to mention her idea of creating Jersey Boys Fan Club membership cards for all of us! Your magnets have been gracing my fridge along with ones I purchased at the August Wilson. It's basically more than a passion, craze, addiction and/or fad, now I'm up to 29 viewings US wide.

I love the musical, fellow fans, casts and people behind the scenes because:

It's loved by people of all generations, no matter how old you are.....

the Cast members are very appreciative of their fans. (examples of my personal experiences: John Lloyd Young sends b'day cards to his fans and answers his fan mail, the casts enjoy mingling with us at the stage door even if they're tired after their 2.5 hr. performances, once you get to know cast members, some offer to give you backstage tours, public appearances are fun for all because they get to add to the fanbase by promoting the musical and they make us smile when they recognize us away from the theatre.....)

we love the energy and 1000% all Jersey Boys and Girls give on and off stage while providing us with pure entertainment and having us leave the theatre with a smile.

we love the interaction with fellow fans and new fans watching the musical for the first time..... Great conversation in line with lots of "I didn't know that.....", "who brought them together?", "really?" and "wow!", which makes for lots of future ticket purchases and new friendships made here, live and on the blog.

we love the entire Original Broadway Cast (thanks J. Robert for your appearance even though you were under the weather.....), Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons and Brickman & Elice for their participation one Sunday evening in NYC and giving the West Coast fans an opportunity to meet you and completing a "Jersey Boys" circle for me that included watching the SF/Chicago cast and the National Tour.

we love the opportunity to help those afflicted by disabling diseases as advertised or sponsored by John Lloyd Young (Cystic Fibrosis Foundation), Irene & Buz Eizen (Crohns & Colitis), all Jersey Boys casts (SF AIDS Walk and BC/EFA against AIDS), Christian Hoff (Parkinsons Disease), and helping those fans and cast members by pledging aid or collecting donations via walkathon or by read-a-thons.

All in all, the casts, production staff and fans are one huge worldwide family helping to keep our favorite musical alive for generations to come!

There is so much that I love about this show. Warning, this will be a long post.

The different little things about each actor in every role.

The little things you'd notice only if you saw the show 3+ times.

The energy you get anywhere in the theatre.

The chills when Frankie starts CTMYOOY or Fallen Angel

The chills when the group starts Cry For Me, Sherry, or any other song.

The tears during Fallen Angel and MEAY.

The happiness and sometimes still tears when they get into the R&R Hall of Fame.

The fact that you still cry and smile and are sad and happy when everything happens, even though you know that everything will happen after seeing the show multiple times, because the amazing people on stage make it happen the first time for you again (does that make sense? sorry, weird sentence)

When you are startled that the guy who plays Tommy is so nice because Tommy, even a charming Tommy, is such a bad boy.

The amazing generosity and sweetness at the stage door of all the actors and actresses.

The awesome people you meet on the JBB.

Told you that this would be long. Hearts everyone!

jwright12, What a great question!

I saw the OBC in May 2007, and I had a smile on my face for the whole show..I also had tears for the whole show..The smile was for the singing and the comedy, the tears came because of JLY..He touched my heart, and I could not get the show out of my head..

And I love that I got to meet such wonderful people over the last year, friends..And I have JLY to thank for that..I will never forget Jersey Boys, and thats why I love it!

Irene said it like this: JBADD Jersey Boys Addiction Distraction Disorder.

What else is there to say...Jody

I have seen the show 3 times all in Chicago (closest city to me) and just LOVE it, not unlike anyone else on this board. Buy why? Why do we love it so much? What is it about the Jersey Boys that keeps us coming back? Just curious what peoples' answers will be - maybe to help cure me of my addiction - nah.... But still want to know.

Why do you love Jersey Boys?
