How much of the story is actually true?

After seeing Colin Trahan's exceptional performance as Norm Waxman this past weekend in Las Vegas, I got to wondering if there actually was a Norm Waxman. Then I took that idea to a whole different level and wanted to know how many of the characters in the show were/are real people.

We know that virtually all the principles were real save Lorraine who, from what I understand, is a composite of not just Frankie's girlfriends but all 4 of the guys.

Gyp is actually Angelo "Gyp" DeCarlo.

Knuckles (BEDTIME!) is probably an invention as is Pete the bowling alley owner.

Al, the cigar-smoking sleezeball record producer was probably real.

Love Muffin the Ohio cop? Most likely an invention.

What about the 2 guys in the gunshot scene? Probably real Jersey mob folk.

    Any thoughts?

Also, the DJ who continuously played "Sherry" wasn't named Barry Belson, and eventually was fired for playing it over and over. (I can't find a link now, but I think when the tour came to the area he was living in, the local paper did an interview.)

I'm a little off topic, but I have to second Gary's mention of Colin Trahan as Norm Waxman. He did a great job in the role!

Gary and Krystal are so right!! Colin makes a very scary, believable mobster. When he tells Gyp and the Boys 'We like their songs. Anyone else would already be in the hospital', you know this guy means business!! Having seen the show twice this past weekend, I can assure that the Vegas cast is in great form.

I know I had read that Lorraine was just a combination of many of Frankie Valli's girlfriends.

I don't care what characters are real or made up. They all make for the most wonderful theater experience I have ever had and I have seen over 105 shows.

Also, the real Mary Delgado's last name wasn't Delgado.

Thanks, Pamela! I'm going back again shortly...

I believe there is someone named Lorraine - somewhere along the way. She may be a combination of people, but I don't believe the name was 'pulled out of a hat,' so to speak.

In doing my bus tour research, I've also heard that Frankie's first wife was a real sweatheart.
