There is certainly no reason not to voice an opinion. My complaint is why we need to get down right nasty about it. We also have to remember that the real Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio were in on the casting decisions and I feel they have perfect taste in the talent they chose. Blessings on them and all of the casts and crews in all of the productions. You gave my heart something to sing about.

Please pay Leanna no mind. She always has a dissenting opinion on Fan Favorites…it’s how she draws attention to herself. Nobody knows who the hell she is and just hides behind a screen name.
Leanna, fine you did not care for Ryan’s performance couldn’t you just leave it at that? Was it necessary to overtly berate so rudely every aspect of Ryan’s performance? You really have no CLASS… not that you ever did.
As far as JLY not well suited to play “Frankieâ€, he only won every single Theatre award in 2006 and it his voice you hear on the Grammy winning Cast Recording. You obviously do not recognize talent.

WOW!!! What a mess this has caused, I think this calls for a clean up in aisle 4!!!

Let's see. I think one would consider Deven May, Jeremy Kushnier and maybe those other guys I mentioned in my first post in this thread to be fan favorites. Since I liked them, that was hardly a voice of dissent. I wouldn't use the word "always."

I have been a long time lurker on this board and finally felt the need to post.
There are several of you (socaljbfan, charlyca, phillygalg) that seriously need to take a step back and take a look at themselves. You preach to everybody here that we all need to get a long and everybody has their own opinions, yet when somebody doesn't agree with you, you go off on your little tangents.
Many of your posts come off very infantile and maybe you should start practicing what you preach for once.

Three times Leanna refused to comment - I call that verging on superhuman. But my main complaint reading this forum is that the people you mentioned in your post, especially socialjbfan come across as embittered, screaming yahoos. Constantly looking for excuses to put down the poster Leanna - and don't tell me that I don't know the history, I've been reading this board for a long time!
If you were really so concerned about the feelings of others you would cease with the personal attacks. You socialjbfan (social? what a misnomer) with your constant attacks about Leanna wearing glasses! Give us a break! You philyglag with often reinterated mantra about never posting on this board again. You CharlyCA - people with real class would never say to others that they don't!
On the subject of the London production, I know someone who flew to London for a weekend solely to see the show and walked out at intermission. So start the attacks.

thevig & PR I'm flattered that you both feel this way. If you know the history of Leanna then you should also be aware that many, many users not just me, charly, or phillygalg have had their own history with her. I felt the need to say something a long time ago because it really got to the point where it was left and right with attacks from them to begin with. And I don't constantly put Leanna down, well maybe I do but I have on rare occasion agreed with her on certain things and she agreed with me on one thing in particular that I remember mostly was when that person came on the board talking about whether the writers of the song should be given their royalties. Anyways, long story short here is one thing I will say about Leanna, look at the thread that I'm going to bump up next.
oh and one more thing PR, I WEAR GLASSES TO SO CALL ME FOUR EYES, haha I just happened to see a few a photos of Leanna a long time ago and assumed she had glasses, call me a liar if I didn't see glasses on that face if not then maybe I need to get a new prescription then oh my goodness this is just what I needed, AND I LOVE IT!!!

Just for you decidely nasty people...I happen to love the "Jersey Boys" shows. I just can't understand why you all feel it necessary to pick on those of us who are not as important to the blog as you all seem to think you are. My name is Gladys and I am a 62 year old woman who is about to retire after 41 years with my company. I resent being berated on this blog by you cyber bullies. You seem to enjoy making people feel inferior and small. You want me out...ok! well for a thread that started off talking bout ryans so called lack of talent,it seems to have moved on to a load of old tosh!..fact: ryan is a star...fact:for those in the states that dont like ryan or the show...well dont go see it again...no one makes you...fact:us jb londoners will keep going and going and going..coz ryan and his cast mates are fab!..and the show,is by far the best thing in the west end at the moment..and this is coming from someone who has way more going on in her life than just jb!..
this seems to have gone back to being in the playground..yet without the cool climbing frames!!

I think I am right in stating that this forum is for fans of Jersey Boys, to get together and talk about the show and exchange fun experiences & gossip & to hook up with fellow fans. It is certainly NOT the place for anyone to be rude or nasty about the show or the Cast!!
There are a small minority on here, who are just not welcome, so I suggest you start your own little forum - we can assure you we won't bother you, so please stop bothering us!!

I don't understand why everyone is taking this so personally. They're actors. They know that praise and criticism come with the nature of their jobs, including comments that are as colorful as the ones we've all seen in this forum. This whole outrage thing is pretty ridiculous.
In sticking to the topic of the thread, I have also seen the London cast and thought that it was great overall. You know, if you if there was a thread called "We love Ryan Molloy," Leanna would probably stay out of that discussion and everyone could gush about him all they'd like with no dissenting views.

For all that this is supposed to be about fans who love Jersey Boys, I'll admit that I have lurked here a long time and never posted as I was afraid I'd slip and mention that someone was my "favorite," and then I'd be banished to the "no class" basement prison and be berated. You love the show and that's fabulous-- I love the show too. That doesn't mean that I've loved every single thing that every single actor I have seen has done; that's just not realistic.
We all see things through our own experiences, and being critical is, in a way, a compliment. By deeming someone your "favorite," that means you have analyzed what you saw, and it's not to say that the other performers were bad, just that one performer was the "best" at the role in your opinion. If you want to be kumbaya about everything and love it all equally, that's fine, but not all performances are the same or sometimes at the same level and it's not wrong to see that and have an opinion about it. And since you're judging from your experience base, someone else could see the same performance and come to an entirely different conclusion-- that's the way it goes.
Actors are in the public eye and their acting is a "product" which people will be having opinions about, good and bad. I hardly think that Ryan Molloy or JLY (or any JB actors, for that matter) are clutching their awards and sobbing because someone on the internet didn't like their performance, and I don't understand how someone on the internet disliking a performer takes anything away from your enjoyment of that performer.
I am also bewildered that apparently if a person doesn't like one performer in a show that they should avoid a show that they enjoy forevermore. There are plenty of things to enjoy about JB, regardless of how you feel about any one performer in the show. There have been any number of actors I have seen that weren't my favorite, but I still enjoyed the show overall.
In this thread, it seems to me that the original poster deliberately left out a review of a performer that many people here enjoy, and only elaborated when asked. Maybe everyone should just take a deep breath before you fly into histrionics-- you can go on loving Ryan Molloy just as much as before, and he'll be treading the boards just the same, regardless of what is said here.
