I had the pleasure of seeing JB on Sunday evening at the Bob Carr Auditorium in Orlando. I have seen JB twice before at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center last year. Along with my daughter (who had seen it before) were two of her friends who had not seen it before. I just love to watch first timers react to the magic!! Both were as mesmerized as we were last year. It was a wonderful performance although there seemed to be sound problems.
I was struck by the uncanny resemblence of Graham Fenton to Frankie Valli in his younger years...clone? He did a great job as Frankie(I fell hard last year for Zachary Prince in this role) and Matt Bailey was super as Tommy (I had seen Erik Bates previously). Steve Gouveia is just wonderful in his role of Nick and Josh Franklin really nailed the Bob Gaudio role. The girls were superb as was the whole cast. I really, really love Jersey Boys and would urge everyone to try to get friends and family who have not seen it to go. What an experience (Oh, what a night!). I am going to try to get to see Joseph Leo Bwarie before it leaves Orlando. The crowd loved it but only one standing ovation at the end :(
Question? Have there been changes to the show since last year? It seemed shorter and not as "glitzy"??? It was a wonderful and exciting evening!!!
