The interview with JLY and Frankie is on http://www.tonyawards.com. Look at videos under Walk The Red Carpet under the Tony Night Headquarters category for the video clip:)

Was it just me and my dish/dvr, or was there a screw-up in the west coast feed of the JB portion of the Tony's? It jumped straight from Frankie #1 (Bwarie) to midway thru Frankie #4 (Scaglione), completely skipping Faugno and Simmons! The sound jumped too. What's up with that?

stubbleyou - I watched it live here in Houston and saw them all, no skipping. It was terrific, just not enough. Made me want to get to all of the shows.

Is Doug Crawford in the Broadway cast now? It looked like him up on the platform.

It was fun seeing all these people together. :) Kind of like Bugs Bunny meeting Mickey Mouse...

Yep. He's taken (taking?) over for Matt Scott, who's going to be Marius in Pittsburgh CLO's Les Miz.

You can get a clearer view of him on Wireimage/Getty, too:

  17. To quote from our Tony Awards party: "It's a Frankie Valli time paradox! Shouldn't there be an explosion of the universe?"

The boys were rather lovely. It was fun trying to pick who was in the ensemble for "December 1963." It was cool seeing the guys all together.

It was such a great performance and so cool to see the various Frankies...each is handsome in his own way. They sounded great singing together, too! What a wonderful photo op! Makes me want to try to see the other Frankies.

Great to see the ensemble number as always although I couldn't tell who was there.

Stubs, there was no skipping around when I watched it last night and we're on the same time zone.

We're so lucky that Jersey Boys has been asked to perform at the Tonys year after year even though they won Best Musical back in 2006...cool that the producers keep finding a reason to bring them back and sing in different performances and for different reasons without it seeming old. I like how they highlighted the touring companies of the various shows.

Is there anyone out there who has seen all 5 of these Frankies perform?

I've only seen two of them besides the original JLY--Jarrod and Rick.

Dina, I've been extremely fortunate to have seen all 5 and loved them all. Weren't they all wonderful and adorable? Just wish they had given them more time. It just went by so fast.

Plus, wouldn't it have been cool to have JLY introduce them?

I'd seen all 5 perform, but not as Frankie (I've only seen Courter as Joey).

This gets me wondering who and how they decide which Frankie goes to what company. I'm sure the director Des has a definite say on it. How about Mssrs. Valli, Gaudio, and de Vito? Is there some sort of committee that analyzes each actor's strengths and weaknesses? Who has the final decision? Do the actors have any input? Love those behind the scenes tidbits.

Great to see Erik Bates again. Glad he will be in the JB cast. Just made plans to visit Philly in October for my best friend's birthday and will be off to NYC to see the show AGAIN.

Des has final say. He sees every Frankie auditioner and makes the final decision. He gets input from the entire creative team but his is the deciding vote. Who you are seeing is is who Des himself has handpicked. You opened it up so I'm gonna say something. The cream truly rises to the top and it was evident who was at the top. No disrespect to any of the other actors. They are all worthy of their roles.

3 out of 5, plus JLB in his cabaret and Courter as Joey, but those do NOT count, Leanna.

I would imagine there are probably any number of considerations that we are not aware of behind who was chosen to perform at this, and in general.

I was just happy to see various JB cast members on my television.

boy0210, it is a fact. Des rules the roost. Every actor in the entire Jersey Boys company knows this.
