Hi. I am new to this forum. I love the Jersey Boys, but have only seen it twice. I would like to see John Lloyd Young one more time before he leaves. Tell me about getting cancellation tickets. If I get to the theatre very early, is there usually some tickets available? Is there a special time they start selling those tickets? Also, what are the nights JYL isn't there. Thanks, Lisa

Can't help you re: the tickets, but welcome to the board!

Lisa: You and everybody else will want to see JLY's last performance. Get to the box office when it opens and talk to the people that sell the tickets. They will have a good idea of the availability. Be prepared to wait a long time in line. If you are buying one ticket it will be a lot easier, but I suspect there will not be many tickets returned for re-sale.

Cancellation tickets become released throughout the day. You may have to be in line for an hour or 3 hours. It varies. But good luck!

Lisa, there are some other threads here that talk in detail about the cancellation line. Do you know how to scroll through the subjects? I don't remember all of the specifics but it sounds like they can sell cancellation tickets anytime between when the box office opens, right up until 5 minutes before the show. It seems like there are usually some to be had, but the closer you get to JLY's last show the harder it might be. The only times he doesn't perform are the two matinees (Wed/Sat) unless he is sick.
Good Luck and welcome to the board. We are glad you are here.

Hi Lisa,
Welcome to the board... as Melissa said there are detailed threads about the cancellation line. You will have to wait in line and it is certainly worth it! I got 5th row, aisle, premium seats at regular face value and I was on line for 2 hours on a Sunday. For the remainder of John's performances, he does not perform during Wed. and Sat. matinees, as well as if he's sick. Michael Longoria takes the role then. I'm not going to be able to see John's last performance, but I'm looking to go Sun. Nov. 18 and the box office opens at noon. Again I arrived in line (I was #11 in line) at 1 PM for a 3 PM show and I got those great seats 5 min. before curtain.... but this is John's last week, so if I am going, I'll get there earlier!Check out the previous threads - lots of great info. Again welcome to this wonderful community of obsessed fans! ;)

Lisa,
Welcome to the board!
In regards to getting tickets, all the ladies above are correct when they say get there
early when the box office opens if you want a ticket. I think as the date gets closer to JLY's last performance everyone who wants to see him one more time is going to the cancellation line. We had tickets in hand for yesterdays peformance which was a Sunday and as we were walking in we took a look at cancellation line and there were only 7 people on line and it was 2:45 15 minutes before showtime. We were in row B and two ladies who were on line got seats right in back of us. So I would say if you really want a cancellaton ticket, get there early because next Sunday and on I would think there is going to be more and more people trying this.Posted 5 years ago # -

You also can't really be sure the 21st is his last day until...well, that day is actually here. ;)
Cancellation line is really a gamble as far as seat location, and you don't save any money, but it's your best bet when a show is sold out.

Thanks everyone for your warm welcome. I am definitely going to try to see JYL one more time. I think going to the 11/21 performance will be incredibly emotional for everyone.

Jody, there are tickets available through brokers at high prices (see one link on the home page of the Blog and linked from the Forum, too). Keep in mind, the prices they list don't include the fees, which will show up at 'check-out'. I got some this way when JLY said Nov. 18th was his last day (if he wasn't out sick). Leanna is right, though, you really don't know if the 21st will be his last day- until that day comes.
Welcome. Lisa. I'm sure you can get cancellation tickets before John leaves. And Dina... I'll see you in line on the 18th.

Oh yay Audrey. Lori will be joining us as well in the c. line. We'll all have a lot to talk about, which will make the wait seem shorter. Wanda already has tickets. :P

"I am wearing out the soundtrack!"
No, you're not, Lisa. You can't. Vinyl, yes; a CD, no. You're dating yourself. ;-)

I thought you were going to say "There is no Jersey Boys soundtrack."
Or is that my job? ;)
