Hey everyone~I'm looking to make a few little "going away" things for a few of the cast members of the Sherry Cast (before they leave Cali). What I need from all of you fans is anywhere from a sentence or two to a paragraph (please nothing longer than a paragraph) telling them/me what you love most about their cast (or a specific person). Please!!!! Thanx, it would mean a lot to me!

K well I'll tell you specific names that I'm doing for sure, but trying to get some for each of the cast members... For now, we definitely need- Deven May, Erich Bergen, Steve Gouveia, Zach Prince, Chris Jones, Holly Ann Butler, Sarah Darling, Jamie Karen, Taylor Sternberg, Brandon Matthieus....

Thanks. Sorry, I'd read that as people actually leaving the show. ;)

haha. lol. no, just leaving california. although erich is leaving soon.

Erich is leaving the production?
Posted 5 years ago # -
Yes. He's not sure if he's going to another company yet or if he's just leaving altogether.
Posted 5 years ago # -
Oh wow! I was hoping to see him in Tampa...do you think he'll move to Broadway?
Posted 5 years ago # -
Erich Bergen makes a great Bob Gaudio--he would do well on Broadway !!
Posted 5 years ago # -
he would do wonderfully on Broadway......He's leaving either just before or just after Houston, actually. I don't know what lies in the future for him but I'll see him on Sunday so I'll try to ask.

I don't think he's going to Broadway.
Posted 5 years ago # -
You know what, don't ask. I don't think it's anyone's business but his.
Posted 5 years ago # -
that is true. he probably wouldn't tell me anyway. i don't know him very well. he's one of the few members that i just kinda casually say "hi" to when i'm there. but he's very nice.

He'll do very well wherever he goes. He is a terrific Bob Gaudio and his vocals are fantastic. I will miss him in that role. Steve Gouveia and Mike Ingersoll could never whisper in his ear "I want you inside me". with the Cadillac keys because of the height difference between them. I'll always remember that. Good luck Erich.

haha. Yes. That part is hilarious. he is SOOOOO tall though! In all of my pictures with the cast, a few of them they put me beside him and I look like a dwarf!

Sunshine: Too true. Too bad that doesn't stop some people. (Yes, I realize I'm being semi-hypocritical here. But not by comparison.)
Posted 5 years ago # -
.......did i miss something? haha. oh well. anyway, beyond the erich bergen issue, which really isn't an issue, i'm wondering if anyone could just share a few words about the Sherry cast.

Well, for me, the Sherry Cast has meant a lot to me because they're the only cast I've seen perform the show and the show has meant so much to me. It's brought me closer to my friend and my mom and has provided so many great times for us. They always give one hundred percent and put on such an incredible show night after night. :)

thank you!!! that's the kind of answer i was looking for!

I love the Sherry Cast. They are so incredible on stage. Deven May is such a talented actor; he always has me cracking up. His expressions always are one of my favorite points of the show. To quote my friend, "They equal love." Erich Bergen and Eric Gutman are both wonderful Bob Gaudios. I'll never forget either of them in "Oh What A Night." Steve Gouveia's rant as Nick in the second act is always priceless. And last, but not least Chris Jones is amazing. Ask my friend, I'm always crying during "My Eyes Adored You" and "Fallen Angel," and I get chills with "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You." Also, the way he says "music" in his final monologue has always been the best interpretation of that word to me. They are all truly amazing, and the actors are all so sweet at the stage door. My friend taking me to see them for my birthday was the BEST birthday present I ever had.
I hope this wasn't too long.

Thanks to the 1st National Tour Cast for kicking butt in the BC/EFA Easter Bonnet earlier this year! Also, thanks to Steve Gouveia for the time to chat about his OBC experiences with my sons and I at the Curran Theatre and for Michael Ingersoll for being so very down-to-earth and friendly, especially when we go backstage and see you while you were with the 1st National and Chicago Tours.

This is very hard for me to keep it short. The Sherry Cast ROCKS!! They're the only cast I've seen and one of the BEST theatre casts I've seen over the years! Deven's facial expressions are priceless especially when he reacts to Steve's rant in the second act! Chris' Fallen Angel brings tears to my eyes everytime and rips at my heart every show the way he sings it with passion and such feeling. The ensemble doesn't go unnoticed by us fans as they work just as hard if not harder than the 4 main leads especially the girls with their over 30 costume changes in a show I do believe it is! They'll be missed greatly but us Cali fans that don't have the funds to travel to see this show again! I'm sad that it's leaving Cali soon as I'm connecting faces with names and the tracks that each ensemble member does in the show. It's been fun while it lasted. THANKS for everyone involved with the show for making it such a fun show to watch! Good luck to you all when you guys finally leave JB and I hope to cross paths with you guys again the future!

I have a question - I know you're all talking about the touring cast that just played LA and the OC, and is now heading up to Seattle. Why are they sometimes referred to as the Sherry cast?
Posted 5 years ago # -
Each cast (road shows at least anyway) is given a name like Lion King has/had two touring companies. One was the Cheetah tour which did the West coast and the other one was the Gazelle tour which covered the East coast. I don't know exactly who decides which cast gets name or if it just road shows that have more than 2 casts that get named. Sherry cast is the name given to this particular company. Again I'm not sure where it originated from and it's probably used to distinguish between the two touring companies. This is my guess on it anyway.

Because that's the nickname of the company. All musicals that have more than one tour have nicknames for ease in keeping track of which one's where. Les Miz had three (Fantine, Valjean, Marius), Phantom had three (Phantom, Christine, Music Box), Rent's first two Equity tours were Angel and Benny, and the current two Lion King tours are Cheetah and Gazelle.
Jersey Boys is Sherry, Chicago, and Vegas.
