Congrats to Eric. He's taking over for Colin Donnell, so he's still playing Hank Majewski. His last performance on tour will, well actually it's today (12/9) and his Broadway Debut will be on 12/15.

But now we don't have someone on tour who blogs. But I guess we'll have another person in the Broadway cast who blogs.

This was an incredibly well told story except for the part of Michael Cerveris. I am glad he didn't win the Tony that year. I have tickets for the night performance on December 15th and so I will make sure I meet Eric at the stage door. Colin Donnell will be in a new play written by Edward Albee that is going to be coming to Broadway soon.
Congratulations Eric. You were very warm and cordial when we met in LA. My biggest surprise was when Sarah recognized me immediately a few days later at the theatre. I think your description was much too accurate, as in wall-to-wall people, she made a bee-line for me, with "Excuse me, are you Howard?"
I have enjoyed your Blog all these months, Eric. And although I can't recall ever leaving a theatre before curtain calls, after your Blog a few months ago, I certainly wouldn't do so now.
From reading Eric's Blog, perhaps he means Michael Cerveris should have won the year Des won for "The Who's Tommy"?

Well, as far as blogs, we have Melissa Strom, although she's not technically there at the moment. :)
We need someone in the Sherry cast to take the blogging reins now that Eric Gutman is leaving. Erich Bergen stopped blogging months ago and he's leaving at the end of December anyway. Hopefully Melissa starts blogging about the show if she comes back. And to go off on a tanget a bit, does anyone know what's the latest about Melissa Strom's situation with the show?
someone should ask Taylor to start a blog. if happens to take over gutman's track, it'll be doubly fitting.

mike~ melissa is waiting until her health is back in full-swing, as there were complications before, it seemed. she should be returning soon though, and she is doing swimmingly, as far as i know :)

I'm THRILLED for Eric! His Hank and other roles in the show ROCKS!! He's a really nice guy even though I didn't talk to him that much in Costa Mesa. He mentioned to me that the Saturday was the last day in Costa Mesa as I was waiting inside in the lobby area just outside the backstage area to get out of the cold wind. I said to him ya unfortunately but he thanked me for my support. I still have the monkey mask partially covering up his eyes sometimes as it'd fall back over his face even though he pushed it up going throug my mind right now. I have his "Heyyyy" going through my head too and picturing him up on the catwalk thingy.
I don't know if Taylor's voice is right for Hank's part or not. Hmmm, I wonder who's doing Eric's roles in the Sherry company now. It'll be less confusing between Erich, Erik and Eric since Eric's on his way to NY. I just started reading his blogs and were enjoying them too. I'll miss them as no one else in the Sherry company blogs unfortunately. I guess no one has the time/interest in doing it. Bummer! Break a leg Eric!!! :D
I've seen Taylor as Hank and I think I laughed harder at times than I did when I saw Eric Gutman. The role is in good hands. :)

DUH! I forgot that Taylor u/s the role of Hank. So has it been confirmed that Taylor's taking over the reins of Hank on tour? Are they going to replace him as a swing in the show then if this is indeed the case? I wish I had gotten a chance to see Taylor's Hank. I feel blessed to have seen Eric's Hank 12x. I LOVED Taylor's Joey. He was funny in the role. I enjoyed Taylor in Brandon's roles too. Now the B'way fans can fall in love with Eric's Hank like those of us who had the pleasure of seeing him in the Sherry company. :D
I was expecting to read about how they made it to Seattle...(I was waiting to hear if they made it on time for the Wednesday run through and performance)!! I never expected this great news!! I wonder if he is driving to NY? He won't have the caravan with him and let's hope if he is on the road with Sarah and Toby, they won't have any bad weather and closed roads to deal with.
This must be so exciting for him and I will also miss the inside scoops of my Sherry Cast! His blogs are just as entertaining as his performances. Hopefully someone will take over....how are we going to keep up with all the changes?

Well, Taylor's a swing, so he understudies everybody who's not a girl, Season, Gyp, or Bob Crewe. :)
I know he's a swing and I also know that as a swing he has to be able to cover all male ensemble roles. I never saw Eric out so I forgot that he do go in this role. I saw Taylor as Joey and covering Brandon's roles while in CM. Would love to see his Frankie and Hank though. hmmm Taylor is also the u/s for Frankie too same as Courter.
I had the fortunate opportunity to meet Eric at the Ahmanson in Los Angeles. I can't wait to see him on B'way. For the record, how does one pronounce the "Guter?" (goot-er or gutt-er)
Knowing Eric's sense of humor, I have a hunch it's the latter! LOL
