FINALIZED PLAN for 2/23 receptions for JLY concerts

Since we have well over 50 people coming to the JLY concerts at the Allen Room, it has been decided that the first reception will take place in the lobby area outside of Entrance Door D to the Allen Room. It is a very large space and won't be nearly as noisy as the Stone Rose Lounge. It will be far better for introductions and cocktail kisses I assure you. There will be a couple of bar carts set up if you would like to order a drink.

Upon arriving at the Time Warner Center, take the elevator up to the fourth floor. You will see the Stone Rose Lounge off to your left, then take the escalator up to the Allen Room. Our group will convene outside of Entrance Door D to the Allen Room. Look for the official Jersey Boys Fan Club poster and a photo of JLY. This meet-and-greet will begin at 9 p.m. Those going to the first show will exit the theater approximately 9:45 and we can chat until the second show ticket holders go in about 10:25 for the show at 10:30. Those wishing to stay can either remain in the lobby area or make their way down to the Stone Rose.

The second cocktail reception begins at 11:45 at the Stone Rose Lounge. Our reserved space is to the far left of the room. You may check in with the hostess under "Jersey Boys Fan Club." Again, look for our poster and JLY pic.

The policy of the Stone Rose for parties over 8 is that all the drinks have to go on one bill in addition to tax and 18% gratuity. Therefore, I have taken it upon myself to put up my credit card to comply with their policy. Since this is an upscale establishment, drinks run in the $15-$20 price range. They have delicious and creative martinis, mojitos, caipirinhas and a full selection of tequilas, scotches, etc. If you would like to order a drink with our designated server, you will need to pay me in cash. Give your name to the server when you order your drink so when I get the bill at the end of the night I will know who ordered what. Pay me in cash when you get your drink. To simplify matters, we will round up the cost to the nearest dollar. For example, a $17 martini with tax and tip is $21.44. Pay me $22 cash.

    Here is the table:

$15 cocktail with tax and tip is $18.90 Pay me $19.
    $16 is $20.16 Pay me $21
    $17 is $21.42 Pay me $22
    $18 is $22.68 Pay me $23
    $19 is $23.94 Pay me $24
    $20 is $25.20 Pay me $26

This is the only way it can work in a place like this on a Saturday night with so many people coming and going. I trust you will understand and cooperate accordingly. You are certainly welcome to make your way to the bar and order yourself, but it might be cumbersome and time consuming. Besides, the Stone Rose wants to keep us contained in one spot. We are welcome to stay until closing at 2 a.m. which, no doubt, we will.

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to seeing you all there!

Gary, Thank you so much for all the work you have put into organizing what is another great event in the Jersey Boys family of celebrations. May I suggest that since you are so kindly collecting the money and putting the drinks on your credit card, that to make things easier for you, everyone bring exact bills - enough 10's. 5', lots of 1's and some twenties. Each person can pay you the exact amount. This way, you don't have to make change and don't have to work as hard during the party you planned. Thanks, dear friend. IE

Gary, thanks again so much for putting this together. The more I read about it, the more excited I get (if that's possible!!). I feel like I'm going to be running around like a chicken with my head cut off, trying to meet everyone and practice my cocktail kisses! :-) What an amazing night!! I just can't wait. 11 days and counting!!

Irene, by the way, you've just shown why you're the ultimate party-planner: everyone bring exact bills :-) LOVE IT!!!

    Gary,

You have done a wonderful job of planning and coordinating this. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts. To all of us coming on the 23rd, this only reads/sounds complicated, but it really isn't!! Gary and I checked out both spaces last week, and spoke w/ the manager at the Stone Rose and Allen Room. Both spaces are great venues for our get together, and only one floor apart. Gary's plan will ensure that everything goes smoothly, and we have the best opportunity to mingle and convene before and after each show. Irene, great suggestion about the bills!! I am so excited for this event. Can't wait to see everyone, and of course John's show. Oh What A Night this is going to be!!

Thank you for doing all of the leg work here Gary. Irene had a great suggestion about cash options. I am so excited about the entire week-end and meeting all of you and visiting together. Counting down the days...

    Gary,

I join everyone in thanking you for all your hard work! I can't wait to visit with you again. But all that talk about cocktails, are they even going to let me in? I'm 18. I feel like the Bob Gaudio of the group.

Gary, what a wonderful job you've done of bringing us all together again; let me add my heartfelt thanks. As JLY said in his Podcast interview, so many wonderful and true friendships have developed from the show, and your putting an event like this together both enhances those existing relationships and allows us to develop new ones, as Irene's orchestrating the BC/EFA event on October 21 did. We shall indeed share our love for the show, for each other, and most importantly, for John Lloyd Young on his very special night.

I also like the idea of our not having to go up to the bar and order ourselves. My experiences at places like these is that they never ever hire bartenders with peripheral vision!

Thanks again, Gary; your efforts are so appreciated by all of us. And I'm proud to say that one of the many friendships resulting from "Jersey Boys" has been yours and mine! See you on the 23rd, my friend.

Gary and Pamela, thanks for organizing this for all of us. I am so looking forward to the evening...and thanks for the drink/$ info. Please don't laugh at me if you see me referring to a cheat sheet with the info. I don't have Irene's math background...I was an English teacher, LOL!

Gary, I didn't think it was possible to be any more excited about Saturday evening. But thanks to you I am! You are so generous to take on not only the organizing but also making yourself responsible for the financial part of the evening. Rest assured we will all be very diligent about keeping track of what we drink and paying you. The drink menu looks amazing. The evening will truly be a night to remember. I can't wait to meet you. Regards, Charlene

Gary, I just noticed this particular thread and it was very helpful and informative. Thanks for doing such an outstanding job of scouting out and then explaining all the details of the evening. The information you provided makes it all seem rather easy to navigate, from the areas to meet in the Time Warner Center, to the start and approximate end times of the receptions, and including the system for ordering drinks and settling the tab. I appreciate all the hard work (a labor of love, right) and tremendous effort you've put into organizing this fun evening. I look forward to meeting you and the rest of the wonderful John Lloyd Young/Jersey Boys/Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons fans. Warmest regards, Len
