I was thinking, if we want to arrange a Jersey Boys fan party en mass in SoCal maybe we should plan something. Now, I've never been to The Farm, but maybe that would be a nice place to meet. Any thoughts? Please help me, I've never planned a party in my life.

I, too, have never planned a party before, but I'd be more than willing to help out! What a great idea to start a seperate thread!
I think that the Farm is a great place to have it, and I'm not just saying that because they pay my bills. We have a sectioned off place called "The Lobby" where no one really sits in except if they're a big party or don't want to wait the hour for a in-restaurant table. However, our menu is a bit on the pricey side and all we have is wine and beer. I would love to serve a table full of JB fans.
The Grove is a central location, being in Los Angeles and all, and it would be great if others would be able to join. But if anyone has any other suggestions, that'd be amazing. I definitely won't feel bad if no one wants to go to the Farm!

Hello Mrs Valli & Kristen:
Really fun project. Here are some suggested items to be checked off:
1. Site
2. List of attendees
3. Short list menu from site (custom for our group) Price can be averaged to arrive at per person amount
4. Invitation
5. Sign in Sheet + Name tags (JB themed)
6. Photo person assigned to take pics as each arrives plus group and candid shots
7. Centerpiece (JB themed) Raffle off at end of get together
8. Ice breaker game - usually a memory game (your name + JB Cast name)
9. Cake - usually okay to bring in our own dessertSo here you go - will help you as needed. Would like to say it would really be a fun get together:)

The Farm is a little pricey, but it seems like a good venue. Unless anyone has any other suggestions, I think The Farm is the place. Kristen, could you possibly put the menu together, as you work there? I'm sure I can find a way to get someone to take pictures, either me or someone I know.

If we can get enough people, or even just 4 or 5 of us, and the Farm is the place to be, we can always order different things and just do a "buffet" type lunch/dinner. I'm sure they'd give me a discount and we could make this work.
mrsvalli, do you have an e-mail address where I can get a hold of you so we can plan this if it all goes through? That'd be great!

Can't wait to hear from you!

What will be an ideal date??
Posted 5 years ago # -
I was thinking about that. I'm not sure. What about days of the week? Saturdays are the best for me, but I can make almost any day depending on the time. If we can decide on a day it will be easier to decide an actual date.

I will e-mail you very soon!!
Well, I can do most evenings. Except for Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sunday nights. That's when I'm working at the torture chamber! But maybe people who have to work during the week, or have school, might want to do this on a Saturday or Sunday because it's the weekend. (Duh, Kristen). And I would probably be able to serve everyone on the 8th of March. Hehe, I had to do a quick calculation of when I'll be serving in the lobby! But whatever works for me, guys!!

Would lunch work better? That way we could do it on the weekend and you could still come, Kristen.
Posted 5 years ago # -
OOOOO! I want to come! :)
Posted 5 years ago # -
Me too!! I've been to my share of JB events in NYC.....would love to attend an event in my backyard.

Great!

I'm in too!

Yippee! Party in Charly's backyard!

This is going to be such a wonderful turnout!! I would love to be a guest, mrsvalli, but if we do decided to do it at the Farm, on a weekend, I won't be able to get it off. No one likes to work on a Saturday/Sunday night!! I wouldn't mind serving fellow JB fans! But enough about that.
I think that first, we should all agree on a venue. Then a date. Or vice versa. I think from that point, we can take the party planning to a whole entire new level. It would be awesome to get Jackie Seiden, Sandra DeNise, and Melissa Strom to attend (The original Sherry Angels)! I highly doubt it, but with all three girls living in L.A. now, it would be awesome!
mrsvalli, expect an e-mail from me soon, my dear! Can't wait to start planning with you!

I'd love to come but depends on my back and if it can handle me driving up into L.A. from Long Beach. Saturdays are best during the day such as lunch as I don't want to have to deal with traffic on the way home. This would put me in a lot of pain to be in stop and go traffic. Where is the Farm and how much is pricey? Some people may not be able to afford an expensive meal. I think it'd be great to get together with other JB fans in my area. You need to give plenty of people notice and you have to keep in my mind that Easter and Palm Sunday are next month so it'd probably be wise to try to plan it for April sometime.

Oh, Jeannette, that is so true! Shame on me! You send a girl to catholic school for 15 years and she can't even remember those dates! It would be wonderful if you are able to join us. I hate traffic as much as the next person, and wouldn't want to put someone in that kind of pain! Especially from Long Beach!!
Well, as said, it isn't necessary to have it at the Farm. I had suggested just ordering different things and sharing, then splitting the tab however many ways. Or however see fit. If anyone wants to check it out, the website is:

April I think is good. I agree if we had it too soon people wouldn't have enough notice. Just as a hypothetical date and time how about Friday April 18 for dinner or Saturday April 19 for lunch. It seems that a few people would prefer lunch. I can't make lunch on weekdays because I have school. Kristen what times do you work on saturday?
Posted 5 years ago # -
It depends. Usually the evening shift.. Has anyone seen the tags for this thread? It's kind of mean in a way.. I will e-mail you soon!
Posted 5 years ago # -
Yes there's a nasty little "tagger" running amok on the forum. Oh, well, kids will be kids.
Posted 5 years ago # -
My two cents...? A weekend breakfast/brunch/lunch might be most accessible, with a Fri or Sat dinner as next best option. Weekday lunches and dinners are probably tough for many. And I like waiting until April, after Vegas...
Posted 5 years ago # -
That sounds like a great idea, stubbleyou! I think that's definitely going to be our target date, sometime in April. And a brunch might be the best just because it'll probably be nice weather, little to no traffic, and we can hang out as long as we want/can.
Posted 5 years ago # -
Sounds good. as I said earlier, maybe April 19?
Posted 5 years ago # -
Friday nights are out for me as it can me an 90 minutes to drive from my place up to the Ahmanson Theatre due to all the traffic. I'd have traffic coming and going which my back can't handle unless it improves greatly between now and then.

So who's on the planning committee again?
Posted 5 years ago # -
Let me know the date. I just might fly out for this! IE
Posted 5 years ago # -
I'm actually going to be in So. Calif. the week of May 26-May 31. Do advise if a get-together is that week. I'd love to go.
