you attend his solo concert debut at Lincoln Center and tell every single person you meet, including, but not limited to, his Dad, his vocal teacher, his cousin ("St. Theresa II"), and Rick Elice how you absoluely LOVE HIM and, now this is the real tell tale sign, you have not 1 inhibition about doing so.

when each and every time someone says "wait" to you the day after the infamous concert, you hear in your head the first note of CTMEOOY!

You come home to Texas and spend the evening re-hashing each song and describing each nuance and interpretation to your husband and children until they finally give up and go to bed.

when you have spent every waking minute (wasn't many sleeping ones) on this board, praising, loving and sharing everything JLY and unfortunately, having to, defend him too since Sunday morning at approx 2am to what is now 4:30pm on Monday! I think (for now anyway) I'm FINALLY speechless.

Your husband finally gets it!!!! Mine is now looking forward to JLY's next event, another concert, musical, or play --- we're there!!!!

I know John wants to do a play, but I would love to see him as the young Lt. in South Pacific which is being redone on Broadway soon. I would love to hear John siging "Younger than Springtime"....same them as to Gary Plunkett's "Young Girl"!!! I read that Kellie O'Hare (I think that's her name) is playing Nellie.

Sorry Elaine, I read where Matthew Morrison got the part of Lt. Cable, but we can keep dreaming about what JLY's next showstopper will be.

I'm hoping that if they do a West Side Story revival JLY plays Tony. It's my all time favorite musical (after JB,of course :-)

when you finally feel calm enough after the emotional high of his fab concert debut and you sit down to write him a letter and vow to not make it too lengthy and it ends up being 2 and 1/2 pages instead of your standard 2 pager! (oh well so much for vows)

bgmiami1, JLY really like West Side Story too! He said in a Q&A thing on broadway.com that any musical he would do would need to be a really good one, like West Side Story. He'd be such a cute Tony.

John would make an excellent Tony! Larry Kert was like the only small dark haired Tony ever in the history of Tony's and they are blonde or red hair now. It would be great if John was the next small dark haired Tony. :)

A friend of mine is heading to NYC with her hubby for a work related trip and part of the package is tickets for Jersey Boys or Wicked. Originally she was going to see JBs but we saw it together in 2006 with JLY as Frankie and the thought of seeing it without JLY just did not appeal to her. She chose to see Wicked instead. I know Michael L is talented, but for me, I would not want to see JBs again either w/o JLY. We've seen the best...no need to see the show again for me. I wait for JLY's next project. I guess I know I'm a JLY fan...

I knew I was a Jersey Boy fan when I decided to see it the 4th time here in Houston. Then went on to see it 6 times. Also, I had a trip to London in May already scheduled, but now that I have tickets to the JB London show it is the only thing I can think about. A friend and I have a road trip planned to go see the last show up in Dallas in August. I am also planning on a trip to NY to see that one. I only have the cast CD and a Four Seasons CD in my car. Do you think I am hooked? LOL

You know you're a JLY fan when...

...you can't wait to get another letter.
...you tell everyone you know about all of his accomplishments and the shows he's been in and gonna be in.
...you love praising him about his performances and send him goofy little gifts, like JB pics or a mini-actor's chair with his name on it.
...when you make your own huge JLY poster since they don't make them yet.
...when you name yourself "jlyfanforever" (my livejournal name) or you start saying that your favorite month is July.
...when you have more then 10 of these "You know you're a fan" things.
...when you want to go to NY just to stop in at Sardi's and see his picture there.
...when you make a JLY calendar (like the Shrek ones and HP ones)
...when you write a really heartfelt essay to an essay contest about your best day ever and you mention the day when you discovered St. Therese and how you feel that she's blessed you with great friends to help you get through the rough times, friends like JLY. :) (I won third place for it, too!)
...when you live on JB websites all day long and you visit him myspace and his website at least 10 times a day (I really don't, but it's a nice thought)
...when you name your first fish "Johnny Angel" and the rest after the Four Seasons and the OBC of JB.
...when you create a good luck charm...one of those photo necklaces with his pic in it.
...when you bring one of your autographed pics he sent you with you on vacation so you can remember your home.
...when you think he's the nicest person in the world. :)

I am sorry Beth - I assume I am the OTHER people that jojen is talking about. No offense intended to anyone so everyone can stop getting at me for my comment. I am entitled to think that there there is more JLY stuff here then Jersey Boys stuff. I will shut up and keep out of everyones comments.
Hope you all enjoy the show whenever you get to see it and all the other shows you attend. It has been a pleasure to comment and to see all the videos, etc. I will not comment on any JLY stuff.

It's alright. I'm not mad at anyone. Like I said, I've been ridiculed by everyone else WAY WORSE so don't worry.

I do see your point. Sometimes I fly off the deep end.
Don't be mad at anyone, please!

Everyone keep in mind that Bethjbfan is only 14 years old. Remember back when you were her age. OK?
