Any news on JB's Minnesota experience? Did they all survive bootcamp?

They have their final show in Tampa today (3/15). They start shows in Minnesota on the 19th.

And if by bootcamp you mean the Frankie bootcamp, everyone who plays/covers Frankie survived it. Anyone who auditions for role has to go through it.

Must be since as far as I know Nate was the most last cast member to leave. Although I didn't really catch the new guys last name.

To quote Butch Cassidy, "Who ARE those guys?" Obviously we know Zach is the alternate Frankie, correct? And Steve... but who are the other two??? I wonder where Andrew and Eric Bates were?

Christopher DeAngelis is the swing who replaced Doug Crawford. He's not that new. ;)

Christopher DeAngelis was there for quite a bit...seeing that Doug left after LA.

    I mean, really...

Lol! That was so cute! It was just the video I needed to see on a lazy Wednesday afternoon.

I wasn't saying they were new--although I don't recall them ever performing lead roles while the tour was in SF. I was just surprised that they sent only one of the "regulars" to the interview. Maybe the other cast members were still trying to adjust to going from the 70's in Tampa to the 30's in Minneapolis...poor guys! I sure hope their opening goes great tonight!

Are you kidding me about the "regulars"? It just struck me as you thought that Christopher was new because you were like, who are they, and such.

Swings and the ensemble members have extremely good merits too.

I'm actually glad that they got to go and do the interview so they could get some recognition that they clearly deserve.

What do you mean by "regulars"? I thought that term was used for people who like, regularly watch the show (any show for that matter).

Oh, and it just struck me as you thought that Christopher was new because you were like, who are they, and such.

AND, swings and the ensemble members have extremely good merits too.

It was a joke more than a criticism. I think it's great when any cast members get to represent the show and garner some much deserved recognition. I've just never seen 3 out of 4 swings/understudies/alternates do a big promo interview like that. I've seen them appear at a hockey rink or whatever, but not usually going into a new city. It just made me a little curious as to whether something was going on with the other guys--late arriving in town, under the weather, etc.

Thanks, Leanna. Sounds like she fell in love at first sight (and listen) ...and fell hard. She's not the first and won't be the last for sure.

GREAT podcast/interview. One of the better ones I've heard--and the radio guy really did his best to get the names right! Thanks, Leanna. Good find!

The Frankie camp joke was pretty funny. I'd like to see a Frankie camp reality show. ;)

And I feel slightly cheated for having never seen anyone get tazered during the show.

Yes, I think "Frankie Camp" would make a GREAT reality show. As for the tazing...I guess when you're in Minnesota and it's 38 degrees and snowing at the end of March, you have to find novel ways to entertain yourself. But it's probably a good thing that didn't happen in SF. Can you imagine the uproar in the "Theater District" if someone was zapped across from the Geary St. Starbucks?

Actually, there was a knife fight right outside the theatre during the show during the final week of the SF/Chicago cast's run. But it didn't involve a patron. ;)

I heard about that knife fight. I think one of the cast memebers mentioned it at the stagedoor. Thjey were still in the process of arresting the guys involved and taking statements when the cast was coming out of the stagedoor.

"Jones manages Valli's falsetto decently, omitting that famed screech at the top of the register..."

Agree. That's why I like CKJ the best (although I like them all, so hold the angry rebuttals :]) Sorry, but that screech really makes me cringe.

Does anyone know where the stage door is in Minneapolis?

Facing the front of the theatre go to the left, through the parking lot. Go to the back of the lot, by that restaurant place. It's far back by the concrete steps.

I love CKJ, although everybody is amazing. This was a great interview. I love the comment, "make us sexier than we are..." I don't think they need help, any of them.

God, those people who will be so rude during the show. When I saw it in Minneapolis, some people literally crawled over chairs to get out, right next to me. I was like, "Hey, freaking awesome show going on here!"

Cute TV interview! It's like...40 seconds long, but there you go. ;)

That was cute. Wish it had been longer, oh well.

Krystal, nothing seems weird or anything if that's what you mean. When I was there there wasn't really anyone else other than the cast when they came out..

Good find, Leanna, but I was laughing...40 seconds is right and Chris didn't get to say "Boo!" Also, with all the millions Dodger is making, I wish they'd update their commercials... It's fun, but sad in some ways to see Erich--Vegas, Deven--gone, Michael--Chicago...not to mention a good part of the rest of them--gone. Sort of a weird time warp. But at least he liked the show!
