Previews start for the Vegas production today with opening night scheduled for May 3rd, but everyone knows that.

Anyway the site for the Vegas production went through a redesign. Don't know if it's completely done but it looks good.

OK you LV lovers.... we better hear something from you by the end of the day. Do you need the number for Gamblers Anonymous? Please give us an update on the opening tonight. We are getting very restless in the hinterlands.

Erich looks so tall compared to the other guys. I guess this must've been how it was in real life for the real Four Seasons. Erich didn't look so tall when on tour as the other main leads were taller. I so wish that I could be seeing this show tonight. I'll have to wait until the fall or early next year to see it in Vegas in person myself. DRATS! I'm waiting anxiously for a report of how tonight's show was especially those that know it so well to tell us what they cut. :)

And sadly, the second thing on my mind was: "I wonder how long the intermission actually is." ;)

Wasn't there are article talking about how they were going to cut minutes off the show. I think they said that it would be half the time of a normal intermission, so I'm guessing around 7 or 8 minutes. Let's hope there are alot of bathrooms near by, and if you want a drink bartenders that are really fast.

    Intermission was 10 minutes.

Show was excellent, great audience.i saw this cast in san francisco and they have continued to get better each time.

They cut out some lines, but it wasn't bad,

How about verses of songs? What lines were cut? Did everyone get back on time with such a short break?

    Thanks! :)

I'm gonna need some help on which lines were cut. I don't think any song verses were cut. It seemed the actors were talking faster in some scenes.

There were many standing ovations during the show. Also entry applause when several actors came on.

There was a countdown clock shown along with film clips in black and white of san francisco and other cities. People did not make it back on time. Several seated near the front sneaked in after the 2nd act had started.

Gift shop will be opening on monday. There were many new shirts and other souvenirs.

After the show, the 4 lead actors were out in the lobby and we were able to get photos and autographs.

Saw des (director) bob gaudio, rick elice and sergio (dance guy) (can't spell this morning). Was nice to say hello.

I've seen rick as frankie 3 times, last night was the best performance. Overall, it was excellent. Great theater.

They played the jersey boys trailer on the hotel tv of the obc cast. Was nice to see JLY over and over again.

Can't wait to come back again.

They probably were. I noticed them starting to do that near the end of their SF run. Have to do what you can to shave of as much time as possible.

And can you go into detail about the clips they showed during intermission? Where they just clips of the cities or like clips of the different casts in the different cities?

I'll post more later, but wanted to add my quick two cents. WOW! This cast did an wonderful job last night. Rick has never sounded better. Jeff, Erich and Jeremy were amazing as always. Joyce's Mary is really fantastic too. I love her! It was a very fun show and the audience was really in to it. I can't wait to go back tonight!

The countdown! I love it. If only it were like the one in Avenue Q. :)

Thanks for the posts. I can only imagine how this cast works together...hopefully can see for myself sometime.

The black/white clips shown during the intermission was clips of cities, san francisco was first. I didn't really pay attention to what other cities were shown. It wasn't JB related.

Several members of the cast said they appreciated the support from the fans. We tried to be loud and stood up often.

It was also very nice to meet so many people from the forum. It was well supported by fans from all over.

Linda, how is the theater itself? Are there any sections that are better than others that you could tell?

Sounds like another great show with great company. Wish I was there :(

I totally agree with NJ Lasagna. Let's NOT live by the adage what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. We are really anxious out here to hear the details. I think that I dreamt about you guys last nite. I woke up laughing and singing. Pleeeease give us some info on the details. Pics, links, you tubes, anything. Miss my JB family!

Yes please provide details people, and be as descriptive as possible. Anything will be appriciated. Although I doubt youtube clips are out there unless someone... well I'll just leave it at that.

    Hi Kids,

Sorry it's taken a long time to get things up about the opening. To answer someone's question, the theater is gorgeous, though the balcony is sort of far back. The seats are comfy, the stage is bigger than the Curran's stage, but lower, so you really feel close to the cast. They go "downstairs" to "unwrap" Bob in the "Oh What A Night Scene" rather than up the stairs (like on Broadway).

The only real negative I found is that there is only one staircase that leads up from the lobby to all the seats. When they have to clear the theater and re-fill it in 35-40 minutes on the nights they have 2 shows, it's going to be VERY tight. They may not be starting precisely at 10 pm...ever!

There is no stage door per se. The actors leave in different ways depending where they park their cars. Some went through the lobby last night--and I ran into a number of cast members outside the theater before the show. So I suspect they will be somewhat available through the lobby on occasion.

They've cut a decent number of lines (or shortened them), but overall, it's so well done that only a purist would notice every cut at the time--we realized afterwards that this line or that was missing. But most of us agreed that it really didn't take anything significant away from the show, particularly if you love the show and the cast and they're doing an awesome job. (Rick was his BEST ever last night--in really good voice).

John Altieri, who left the tour to join this cast, has been ill, so John Salvatore went on for him and did well as Bob Crewe. Des, Serge, Rick Elice were all on hand in the audience, and the audience was very receptive--several standing o's during the show.

One down side of the 10 min. intermission is that people come in late, so while Rick was singing Big Man in Town, people were walking in front of him (bending over so as not to be seen--haha)--and that was just rude.

I'm confident Susie will put up photos as they are sent to her, downloaded, etc. and as soon as she can write something up--I expect we'll all be "in the news."

Let me just say, it was TRULY a night to remember--and not just the convergence of so many JB fans from around the country and the incredibly wonderful hospitality of Irene and Buz. Those two things alone would have made it an absolutely terrific evening. (The Venetian, under Irene's direction, put on a heck of a spread!) But it gets better....I just don't know if it's my place to spill the beans. I just know the stars were in alignment in the best of all possible ways last night!

More stuff will get posted here, I'm sure as people get home tomorrow, Monday, etc. So please be patient.

Did any of you sit in the mezz? I'm considering that vague area for a future trip... :)

I'm surprised about the staircase thing. I hope that gets streamlined in the future.

Not sure about the validity of it, but I had to check the website because I swear I heard "Las Vegas" and "Jersey Boys" on the radio this morning when I woke up.

Anyways, here's the link. You have to be a member to sign up for it, but it's not hard.
