Saw the show on Sunday afternoon and LOVED it! This cast is amazing. Everyone does such a great job. Thought Chris Jones was a fantastic Frankie. Really, really loved him. Andrew Rannells, Erik Bates and Steve Gouveia are also fantastic. I cannot wait to see it again. Luckily, I've only got to wait until May 6. Also loved Jonathan Hadley as Bob Crewe. It was also great getting to meet and talk to Chris Jones and Jonathan Hadley at the stage door. They were both so friendly and nice. It really made my daughter's day as well as mine. It was so much fun to see the show again. I'll hate when it's over because it's been fun to see the Boys on local TV, hearing radio interviews, as well as seeing that national commercial several times a day. There's nothing like a little taste of Jersey Boys on a daily basis to make your day.

THE Peter Filicia saw the show in STL!

He didn't like CKJ, aww. Well, to each his own.

Why is this critic comparing Chris and John for? It's like comparing apples and oranges to me. Why not compare the other 3 main leads to the obc since he compared Chris and John? That's totally stupid. Chris' falsetto not that great? This so called critic has got to be kidding me! Chris is superb in the role and I'm sad for the fans that won't get to see him perform when leaves next month.

Come on. It's Peter Filichia. At least he was classy about it, as he is about everything else. Peter is no "so-called" anything.
Maybe he saw Chris on a bad day. There's no need to flail.

Saw the show again tonight with Zachary Prince as Frankie. He was so amazing and did such a great job! Definitely need to see him again before the tour leaves. He and CKJ both do a wonderful job in this part. The entire cast is just so good. Another great JB experience.

Peter called Gaudio 'charmingly naive'?? Hmmm. Was it when he said- 'Plus which I retain the publishing on anything I write and we can work out a favored nations on any mechanical or ancillary rights.' Bob is portrayed as brilliant and forward thinking with a savvy- and obviously successful- business sense...AND at a young age, but naive?! (Unless he is referring to the 'Oh What a Night' scene- a small piece of Bob's portrayal and needed to fit the song in.)

Missy,
You are so right about Zach Prince, he is absolutely amazing as Frankie Valli!! I saw him twice in Tampa and still can't get his performance "out of my head". I loved the show so much...it was just magical for me. I listen to the soundtrack daily. Can't wait to see the show again!Posted 5 years ago # -
If I had to depend on "reviewers" to determine what I see or don't see I would not see much. They remind me of auditors, some of them are just pompous asses and have to find something that allows them talk down to the masses. Boo hiss to them! They are missing out of life's real pleasures by not relaxing and enjoying. What they don't realize is that the "Jersey Boys" - everywhere - have a tremendous fan base and we are the only reviewers that count. Everyone - go see this show no matter where it is or who is doing what part. YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Well, whatever anyone's opinion. I love CKJ. I don't think it matters what others say, if you enjoy the performance then you enjoy it. Looking back at the review, I'm not quite sure what he means when he says Nick is "efficiently irrelevant," but once again, his opinion, not mine. He has not effected my immense enjoyment of this show.
Missy, how cool, you got to see both Chris and Zach! Fun!

mrsvalli, It was really great to see both Chris and Zach. Now I'm hoping Taylor will go on again while in St. Louis because I would love to see him, too.
Vinklin, I totally agree with you. There really is something magical about this show. I could watch it over and over and over again. I'll be sad when the tour leaves.

Saw the show for the last time Sunday night. It was kind of sad seeing the trucks out there to load up the set. It's been so much fun seeing the show. Was lucky enough to see it 4 times while they were here. Got to see both Chris Jones and Zach Prince as Frankie. Both were amazing in the part. I thought Zach was really special. Would love to have seen Taylor as Frankie, but we were able to see him as Hank. Also saw Andrew Rannells, Matt Bailey and Miles Aubrey as Bob. Loved them all. Everyone brings their own special touch to the part. There is so much talent in this cast and everyone was so nice. We were able to talk to some of the cast and everyone was so friendly. It was really a wonderful experience. Absolutely loved this cast!

What was Matt Bailey's Bob like?

Leanna, I really enjoyed his performance. He has a beautiful voice and sounded great on Bob's songs. And I really liked his take on the character. You could really see the affection and friendship between he and Frankie, which I guess you can with anyone in the role but there was just something about the way he played it. I'm glad we got to see him. We were sitting in Row G on the floor that night so it was great to see how expressive all of the actors are. We met him after the show and he was really sweet.

She has some great photos. I like the set she took of the Fox Theater with the autographs on the wall.
