Erich Bergen was injured when he slipped on stage tonight. The show was stopped for 5 minutes and Mike Backes went in to finish the show as Bob Gaudio. This was Mike's first time doing the role and he did a great job.

At least this one sounds less dramatic than the last one.

Good to hear about Mike Backes! I never got to see him go on at all.

Hope he's ok and they just took him out to be cautious. That would suck if he injured his back again. But at least he didn't fall through the trap a second time.

Great to hear Mike swooped in and did a great job. Gotta love those swings.

Jennifer how did you find out?

No, he didn't fall through the stage, but he was taken away in an ambulance. Mike did a super job. It's so difficult to jump in like that and he certainly succeeded!!

Egads, he left in an ambulance?

Jennifer, do you know when this happened? Which Act?

Aww, I really hope that Erich has a speedy recovery!

Oh Mike Backes. I totally wish I could have seen him. For many, many, reasons. But good reasons.

Same here. I didn't get to catch any of the swings when they were in SF but then I don't think there were many opportunities came up for them to go on.

I think that Graham went on as Joey like, twice. And Mike went on for Jason once. But that's it.

ANNNND back to the topic, hope we hear back from Erich soon. Or, whenever's convienient.

It happened in Act I, right after Sherry. Mike started with the line, "so, now I'm a one-hit wonder all over again".

The great thing about the first class production of this show is the back-up talent for each part. They make sure the customers are not disappointed. I hope Erich is OK and back soon.

    Hi Guys,

I don't normally post, but someone let me know that people were already talking about this on the boards so I thought I would just jump on and clear up and confusion before rumors start. I just got back from the hospital, everything is fine, just a little bruised and sore. Some of the fake "booze" in the Frankie's Apt. scene right before Sherry, spilled out of the bottle and on to the stage. As I came running down the stairs and running over to Frankie, I slipped in it and took a nasty fall. I hit my back in the same place I did last year which really sucks, but certainly not as bad this time.

Thanks for your concern though, and congrats to Mike Backes, I hear he did a great job. I'm not sure if I'll be in t'mow, we will see how I feel in the morning.

Erich, when someone posted you slipped, I'm sure some of us were wondering if you reinjured your back. Sucks to hear you hit the same spot but nice to know it's not as bad as the last time. Hopefully this will be the last time it happens.

And thanks for posting before rumors start spreding. Although if you didn't, I wonder what kind of rumors would have developed.

Yes, Erich, glad you're okay. But didn't I WARN you to be careful about this months ago when I wrote

    Seasons come and Seasons go
Headin' back to Green Room Radio
    Maybe try the Vegas strip
Just try not to dislocate your hip

in this song parody [insert shameless act of self-promotion here] when you left the tour? Ha ha ha.

Now rest up! And skip the mud-wrestling tonight.

    Dear Erich,
I'm glad you were not too badly hurt. That's awful that you hit your back in the same spot. Feel better soon!

    Yeah Erich,

That was so thoughtful and considerate of you to post and update us on what's going on with you. Not all actors would do that. It only proves that you care for your fans and for the people who are concerned with you. I have always been one of your fans Erich.

Take care and hope to see you one of these days when we go to Vegas again.

Take your time with going back into the show as you want to make sure that your back's ok. You're young and you don't want to end up with chronic back issues like myself as it's not fun having to deal with arthritis in your back in your 40s! Glad to hear that you weren't too seriously injured and will make a speedy recover.

I'll answer my own question, now that I know the answer, for the benefit of anyone who is curious and may be reading this: He stayed out one more day, maybe two.

Erich, glad to hear you are feeling better...thanks for posting the update. I haven't had the chance to see the Vegas show yet, but all my NY and CA Forum friends raved about it in April. And, stubbleyou, that song was LOL funny! (btw, they raved about you, too...and your sense of humor...which is rather evident with your posts on the Forum:)
