This is random, but I was reading some NY posts on Trip Advisor and ran across this....

    http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g60763-i5-k2272564-Selling_print_at_home_tickets_Jersey_Boys-New_York_City_New_York.html

"I planned for over 6 months for a nice birthday trip for my mom and aunt to go to the city, October 4-6, and see Jersey Boys but...... so Aunt bowed out of the trip too. So now I have 2 Jersey Boys tickets for Oct 5, but they are the print at home tickets. Has anyone had any experience in selling these type of tickets? If they were the hard tickets, I could put them up on Ebay or Stubhub, but since they are the self print ones, the person who buys them really has to trust that I haven't printed out another copy and will try to get to the theater first and get scanned in. Any advice is appreciated..Much thanks.."

Didn't know if anyone on here has experience with print-at-home tickets.

I'm certainly not an authority on this, but I have bought single tickets twice on Ebay successfully via Paypal (a day in advance, at relatively low prices). It is, however, a risk. In both cases, the sellers had good Ebay feedback numbers and we exchanged cell phone numbers. Also in both cases, the sellers met me at the theatre (one person in the party couldn't attend, but in each case the seller did attend) before the show. I guess, if things went wrong, I could have filed for a Paypal reimbursement and left negative feedback.

In a third case, I also bought a single e-ticket via Ebay (and paid a relatively high price), and asked the person if I could meet him at the theatre and close the transaction then as it was also last minute..and we were fine.

I have, however, heard and read about situations as described above where duplicate e-tickets can be printed and buyers have been out-of-luck. I would think the amount involved is too small for the police to even be involved. If I were to buy another e-ticket from Ebay at this point, I'd look to see that all feedback is positive. But it's certainly a risk.

I love print at home (or office) tickets. I have never, ever had any issues and have done this for almost every show other than my Alley Subscription tickets here in Houston. When the JB were here in Houston I sat a the computer and found out that if I kept trying I could actually get great seats as they release a lot of them right before the performances. Got the tickets, printed-em out and off I went, 4 more times. Just be careful and patient. It takes some time especially if it is a show like Jersey Boys. I usually use Ticketmaster when doing a quick ticket request. They have been very reliable. I have also used Razorgator for those special tickets when I needed better seats at a premium price. You also need to remember that none of these tickets is refundable. When I had those tickets I could not use I mailed the printed tickets to the person who wanted them. I kept the e-mail documents until they notified me that they had the ticket in had. I never, ever forward an e-mail with tickets attached.
