I had a wonderful day! I saw a matinee performance of Grease followed by Jersey Boys at night. Before having dinner, my friends and I met the house electrician for the August Wilson Theater who offered us a backstage tour prior to the show. So, we quickly gobbled down our food and went to the theater to meet him. He graciously spent the time to show and describe to us the mechanical and electrical equipment that contributes to the show’s success. We were introduced to many, many busy stagehands who were getting ready for the show to begin. Judging from his well appointed office, he is indeed a very important person!” Prior to being at the August Wilson, he was the production electrician for Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Wicked, and many more. Judging from all of these shows framed and displayed in his office, he has had an illustrious career! The show was exciting as usual, and it is always fun to be able to bring friends who have never seen the show! I was introduced to Eric Gutman, who just joined the cast as Hank Majewski and others. Sitting up close gives you the chance to be the recipient of that special acknowledgment and smile from the four guys while they are performing on stage. THAT’S ALWAYS THE BEST!!!
