Irene, both you and I have degrees in mathematics, so we know it’s very possible for you to turn 40 this year…in Base 15!!

Stubbleyou, the 45 and 33 1/3 joke is pretty funny. I was wondering when you were going to bring back the old writers!

Irene and Sammy, it’s been such a joy to know both of you. I still recall my best Sammy story. Sammy had met me once and we were in a hall together with perhaps 500 people crammed in. All of a sudden, I hear “Howard, Howard!” with Sammy really motoring in between people in my direction. I was eating a very naughty h’or d’oevre and trying my best to chew quickly before Sammy caught me!! Didn’t work–Sammy’s first words were, “I think you still have some food on your face!!”

My best wishes to both of you for many dreams coming true in this new birthday year for both of you….yeah, I know Irene, it’s next year that we have the new birthday decade!

Thank you so much, everyone, for all the calls, cards, e-mails and great wishes Sammy and I received on our birthday. Thank you, Susie and Dale, for posting this. Now that I have turned 40 again, I am looking forward to forty more years of JB with all the wonderful people I have met through the show and this amazing blog. IE
