Great articles about your experiences with the 1st tour cast and their opening night in LA! Glad to see you had a great time, and I also enjoyed watching your friends, the B'way cast last night at the Tony Awards on TV! It was amazing to see them perform the song and dance on a narrow piece of stage, but they pulled it off as professionals always do. At least they had the honor of announcing more nominees than anyone else at the show!

I hope your business trip is exciting and you get back home safe! Take care, and thanks for sharing news and photos about the 1st tour cast with us!

Thanks for commenting, Gary. Yes, Chris's passion and voice will match anyone's and Erich and the others were remarkable. In fact, in one of the somewhat more mixed reviews, Erich was singled out as outstanding, I believe.

Just to give you an idea of Erich's class, as I was entering the backstage area on the Thursday before the party, I crossed with Erich who was about to greet someone. I asked him for a picture, and he said he'd be back in a minute and would be happy to oblige. At ths same time, Chris Jones and I went into Chris's dressing room to talk about a future Blog article. After we came out, my friends told me that Erich actually went looking for me so we could get that picture--so, is that class or what?? We did of course get the picture on Sunday.

On Sunday, Erich was as cordial and nice as one could imagine. I knew a bit about him from having read his very informative Blog on www.erichbergen.com when he was in SF, so the conversation flowed very easily. You did a great job with your boy, Gary, and you're rightfully very proud of him. I'm sure he'll continue to give you much more "nachas" in the future.

Thanks for the mention. I do read the blog regularly (as evidenced here) and appreciate the info on my son and the rest of the cast of this amazing company. I was also "blown away" by the after-party and, once again, by the show itself. I only wish the LA Reviewers stopped comparing this company with Broadway and let people know, as you did, of the sheer joy and excitement the audience feels every night. I know I am prejudice to this cast, but I would put this entire cast on Broadway with no concerns at all. Chris Jones passion and voice will match anyone and he gives us a thrill every time he goes on stage and deserves much more credit than LA has given him, at least by the reviews, not the audience. Devin, Michael and "The Jersey Girls" are equally as brilliant and, of course, Erich Bergen is remarkable. But hen, I am his dad.
