Hmmm. Wondering now, is the film going to be a musical or not?? And absolutely Michael Longoria in the lead. Don’t think many people who voted saw Michael in the show. He was original Joe Pesci and Wed. and Sat. Matinee Frankie. He took over lead when JLY left for several months. Michael has tremendous talent and energy on stage and would explode off the screen. Very powerful. Just my opinion. Don’t know any of these guys personally; I’m just a fan. If the folks making the movie want an Oscar, I say make Michael the star, He can do it.

I was lucky enough to see Jarrod on 23rd April this year for my birthday.. I was knocked out he was amazing .. When he sang My eyes adore you, it gave you goose pimples it was so beautiful, He has the most gorgeous voice..

This is the first time I have ever commented on a website. I was introduced to Jersey Boys when it was in San Francisco back in 2008. Jarrod was the alternate Frankie. It just so happened that he was the first Frankie I ever saw. (I’ve seen 4 including JLY) I thought, how could he be the alternate? How could anyone do this better? I was a friend of one of the investors who told me that Jarrod was not supposed to be the alternate but was actually chosen to be the lead Frankie. Apparently, there was a snafu with negotiations and they went with Chris Jones. He also told me that Jarrod would probably have been chosen for the OBC but that he was just too young and JLY beat him out when it was just down to the two of them. I believe that Jarrod will be picked for the movie and here is why. He is and has been the anchor of the Broadway show for 4 years. He is undoubtedly, the best Frankie who ever played the part. This is not just my opinion but obviously that of all who are part of this amazing organization who run Jersey Boys. The producers and creative team who will have the final say on who plays the role in the movie will agree and we will all get the honor to see Jarrod on the big screen. IMO

All of the above comments make excellent points. IMHO, if it’s who deserves the role, it’s probably JLY since he helped make “Jersey Boys” a worldwide hit and won the Tony. Indeed, though, Travis has exceptional star power with a marvelous voice.

But James, you make a great point: Dom is from “the old neighborhood,” is Italian, and himself comes from a working class background. As he told Oprah, he was doing construction just two years ago and now “I’m on Oprah!”. I also think Dom would be excellent for promotion, since he’s certainly one of the most humble, outgoing, and appreciative Frankies of all, and I think Hollywood would fall in love with him!
