It ranked ahead of “Avenue Q” (#8), “The Producers” (#10), “Phantom” (#12), “Les Miz” (#15), “Wicked” (#16), “Hairspray” (#33), and “Spring Awakening” (#43). Also great that EW gave so much credit to the Brickman/Elice book!

Ironically, #6 was August Wilson’s “Fences”.
