It’s about Frankie Valli’s distinctive and remarkable voice. I was 12 when “Sherry” came out and I had ALL of their records. One problem in listening to the original music is the recording technology of the time. It can’t compare to todays’s digital recordings. So you don’t get the same quality. I saw FV & 4 Seasons in 1980 in concert, and they were AMAZING! Their sound and Frankie’s voice was better than I’d ever heard it before or since. I saw Jersey Boys in Las Vegas twice and I’m seeing it in Denver next week. The entire cast is INCREDIBLY talented. It’s Frankie’s voice that I love the best!
