Happened to notice that “Can’t Take My Eyes off Of You” was ranked by BMI as one of the top 10 most played songs of the 20th century.

Yet RS didn’t recognize Crewe/Gaudio…nevermind all the others.

Not surprising.

No love lost between Gaudio and Rolling Stone. They never even acknowledged one single Four Season song to be in their top 500 lists over the years.

As mentioned, this rag has lost all credibility anyway.

I think the worst thing about RS is that they view themselves as a serious News, Investigative, Political, and Editorial Magazine. Their recent missteps and retractions prove that they never were. Long ago I gave up on RS ever giving FV4S a fair shake. Along with the MTV and VH-1 Networks.

I believe if you were to ask Bob Gaudio about this he would tell you he doesn’t give a crap what RS thinks. They have screwed the Seasons many times and as far as I know only made mention of them one time and that was for the Live recording of the 4 Seasons at their reunited tour back in 1980. When they wanted to do an interview after Jersey Boys became a huge hit Mr. Gaudio told RS to go scratch saying they never gave the group any interview years before. The 4 Seasons did it all on their own. If you ever had a subscription to that rag I would cancel it
