One of the best songs they ever recorded. They had perfected the use of Frankie Valli’s falsetto by this point. The backup harmonies on this record were extraordinary. I remember reading a review of JB’s where the critic talked about the lyrics of Rag Doll being words you might say to your kids. “I’d change her sad rags into glad rags if I could.” Bob Gaudio knocked it out of the park on this one. Thanks for remembering a tremendous recording from back in the day.

The Hit may have been 1964 but this video clip is later than that, say 1966 ? Why – Because that’s Joe Long (who joined the Seasons circa 1965/66) playing bass guitar and not Nick Massi who played on the original hit recording of Rag Doll.
