This part is my absolute favorite:

And you’re right…JLY is terrific. In addition to his and Satchmo’s, I also liked Anne Murray’s version of about ten years or so ago.

What better way to watch the fireworks show by listening to JLY honor America’s birthday in that manner, not to mention his own birthday as well!

I noticed that compared to Louis Armstrong’s deep gravelly tone, JLY’s version complete with JB falsetto knocked it out of the park and would have made “Satchmo” very proud.
