Bios On The New ‘Jersey Boys’

As reported earlier, there is a new Jersey Boys cast on stage at the Curran Theatre. Check out the bios on the new actors who are playing Tommy, Frankie, Nick, and Bob:

DREW GEHLING (Bob Gaudio): Drew graduated from Carnegie Mellon University . His past credits include shows and workshops Off-Broadway, at the Paper Mill Playhouse, the Roundabout Theatre Company, the Utah Shakespearean Festival, and a residence at Dartmouth with the New York Theatre Workshop. Favorites: The Flamingo Kid (Workshop), Moby Dick (NYTW), Hello, Dolly! (Paper Mill Playhouse), Candide, Assassins, Myths and Hymns, Richard III, The Duchess of Malfi, and Nightingale (a new musical by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater). Film: Blinders (starring Jamie-Lynn Sigler) and Bully (Rockstar Games).

STEVE GOUVEIA (Nick Massi): Steve is one of the original cast members of the Broadway production of Jersey Boys, having been with the show ever since its world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2004. Regional credits include: The Collected Works of Billy the Kid directed by Des McAnuff, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues, Cabaret, Pageant, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Hair (w/ Sara Ramirez). As a musician, he has performed with members of The Doors, Mannfred Mann, Icehouse, The CBS Orchestra, The Verve Pipe, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and many others.

JEREMY KUSHNIER (Tommy DeVito): As a singer/songwriter, Jeremy has released two independent CDs, which are available on his, website at www.jeremykushnier.com. On Broadway, he originated the role of Ren in Footloose (and received the Helen Hayes award and Outer Critics Award Nominee), and appeared in Rent. Tours : Rent, Aida, The Who’s Tommy. Regional: Jesus Christ Superstar, The Full Monty, Bright Lights, Big City, The Rhythm Club. Film: The Adulterer. Television: “FX,” John Woo’s “Once a Thief.”

JARROD SPECTOR (Frankie Valli): Having attended Princeton University and trained at the Atlantic Theater Conservatory, Jarrod is thrilled to have finally surpassed the success he enjoyed as a six-year-old on Star Search. Broadway: Les Misérables (Gavroche); National Tours: Jersey Boys (Frankie Valli), Les Miz, Twist (Pistol); Off-Broadway: Hamlet (Hamlet), Our Country’s Good (Sideway), The Viy (Gorobets).

  1. We just got home from the show in san francisco…..and it was amazing! My husband is 24 and this was his first musical…he wont stop saying how much he loved it!

  2. Thanks for the great comment! My wife watched Jarrod Spector as Frankie when he was the matinee alternate, and we (our family of four) will see him lead the National Tour Cast II on Mother’s Day at the Curran.

    I’m not going to make any comparisions after watching Nat’l Tour Cast I (twice) and the Broadway cast in person. I’m sure that they will definitely give everyone the same “flashback” treatment as the other two casts did for us.

  3. Omg I saw the play for the first time last night and LOVED IT! XD I totally want to go again!!! ASAP!

    And I love Drew Gehling. :) The entire cast was great…but I’m stuck on him. ^^
