Jersey Boys Cast Recording Slips To Number Three
June 21st, 2007With Spring Awakening’s big Tony win, there was a shakeup on the Billboard Cast Album Chart this week! After 15 consecutive weeks in the Number Two position, Jersey Boys Original Cast Recording has slipped down to Number Three.

I do love JB and the OBCR, but it is good that new composers of original music get a shot at the top. It will be interesting to see its staying power once the immediate Tony effect wears off.

I just think that it’s a matter of the stores here in Northern California not stocking enough of the Jersey Boys OBC soundtrack.
Every store I’ve gone to is sold out, so I believe the fans that want to purchase the CD are going online and that takes longer than buying it at your local retailer.
Also, I think that the JB OBC CD “sampler” they’ve been giving away free at the SF Bay Area public appearances may jump start the sales again. It’s a artistically and fun mix of the JB OBC songs that I personally love!
