November 7th, 2009

August Wilson Theatre

Another JERSEY BOYS Broadway milestone this week! As of November 1, 2009, the 2006 Tony Award-winning Best Musical has become the 40th longest-running show on Broadway, with 1,643 performances!

JERSEY BOYS has now surpassed some of the long-running and critically-acclaimed shows on the Great White Way, including Funny Girl, The Music Man, The Sound of Music, Spamalot, and Evita and will soon be closing in on hits such as The Wiz and the original production of Hair.

Congratulations to JERSEY BOYS Broadway on their latest milestone!

  1. When I read this, it takes me back to Marching Band the late 1960s and playing not only selections from “Man of LaMancha” and “The Music Man”, but the medley of “Going Out Of My Head/Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”. We were 40 years ahead of the curve on the CTMEOY part, anyway. Who knew?

  3. That certainly is impressive. Now who has been with the show since the beginning? Dom Nolfi, Mark Lotito, Peter Gregus, Heather Ferguson, Sara Schmidt. Did I forget anyone? I would be interested in finding out how many shows each cast member has done of the 1643.

  6. I know so many people who are still planning to see the show for the first time. There will be a new wave as tickets become more available-someday. Who knows where this will end…or if it will. So much potential.
