  1. Wow, Lou Monte’s “Dominick the Donkey” couldn’t be a more appropriate song. Lou was also a Jersey Boy, raised in Northern NJ. And his “Pepino the Italian Mouse” was a hit in late Fall, 1962, with “Sherry” and “Big Girls Don’t Cry”. While “Sherry and 11 Others” was the first album I owned, arguably “Pepino/What did Washington Say” might have been the first single I owned. In fact, I still have it.

  2. You’re right, Howard; Lyndhurst I believe, southern tip of Bergen County; Carlstadt, Woodridge area. Although I never witnessed it, it is my understanding that Lou Monte and the Four Lovers/Seasons occasionally performed on the same bill.

Lou Monte’s other famous song, the “Italian Cowboy Song” should not be confused with the Four Lovers stage song of the same name.

  3. I think that only Michael Longoria will be singing. On his MySpace BLOG it says that it s just him, backed by an orchestra. It should be great!!
