Jersey Boys National Tour Update from Eric Gutman!
August 14th, 2007Eric Gutman has updated his Tour This blog, with all kinds of news from what’s going on onstage and offstage! Here’s a short preview of what it was like for Eric to play Tommy DeVito last Sunday:
Best part of the day was getting a second shot at it with the evening show. Definitely a different dynamic because Rick was on instead of Chris for the evening show, but i was able to take the notes I got from Eric and Andy after dinner and really apply them to the role. I was more relaxed. I was more in control, and I allowed myself to let the character to take over as opposed to “acting” the part. And, I thought it was a powerful show…very proud of it. But I want to send out a huge thank you to the cast and especially the crew for getting me through both shows and for all the support and love sent my way.

You did a really excellent job as Tommy. We were impressed the way you “breezed” through the lines like you were playing it all the time. But even without that role, I must tell you we are impressed the way you play so many characters in Jersey Boys. Such a talented person !

How lucky you were to have seen Eric in the Tommy role. Maybe I will get the chance when Deven goes on vacation. Does anybody know when that is?
