Message To Everyone From Erich Bergen

August 21st, 2007

Erich Bergen asked us to post this message to Jersey Boys Blog:

I wanted to say a quick thank you to all the fans and friends that have sent messages to me following my recent injury. They meant a lot to me and helped in the process of getting better. Many people have been asking “what happened?” and “when will you be back?” Simply put, following the song “Let’s Hang On,” heading into the Winter section of the show, the elevator/trap door at the front of the stage started to descend about 5 seconds too early, and took me along with it. It was no one’s fault at all, simply a computer malfunction.

As a result, I badly bruised by lower back and my whole body has been very stiff and sore for the past couple of days. I do plan to be back in the show Wednesday, August 22nd at 8pm. To those audience members who missed my performance this past weekend, I do apologize, but I
know Eric Gutman and Miles Aubrey treated you very well. I pretty much give the same performance, just slightly taller. I look forward to getting back to what I love doing best, though I might not be moving as easily as normal for a little while. But hey, the Four
Seasons were never exactly dancers anyway, right?

Thank You again,
Erich Bergen

We’re so happy to hear that Erich is on the mend and will be back in the show soon!

  1. Hey Erich,

Great to see that you’re feeling better from that terrible accident! At least from what I’ve heard in Sacramento, I guess they do not have a lift system onstage, so everything will be brought up front by stage crew. What a relief!

We’ve had a blast meeting up with Jarrod and Michael from the 1st Tour again, but it will even be better when seeing you, Deven, Chris and the gang one more time up in Sacramento!

    Take care and stay safe!

P.S. Michael Ingersoll gives his best regards to his buds in the “Sherry” cast. We’re totally enjoying his portrayal of “Nicky” once again! Say what’s up to Steve Gouveia from the SF fanbase! Thanks!

  3. Glad to hear you’re better and will be back on stage tomorrow night. But if you’re not ready take more time. I don’t think the fans down in LA will be dissapointed if you do.

  5. Yes, Erich, take more time if you need to, but we WILL be disappointed if you are not at Thursdays night show in LA! I’m sure Eric and Miles do a wonderful job too, but I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing you one more time before you head up North, and I’m bringing my two best friends to see the show Thursday for their birthday presents. So, it’s okay if you are a bit stiff; it’s your singing voice and line delivery that make you so enjoyable to watch and believable as the creative genius behind the Four. p.s. I love your YouTube postings.
