Michael Ingersoll’s One-Man Show on 7/21 and 8/25!

July 18th, 2008

Chicago Jersey Boy Michael Ingersoll is busy preparing a one-man concert, “The Long Road Home,” at Arlington Heights’ Metropolis Centre for the Performing Arts that will take place on July 21 and again on August 25 at 7:30 p.m. The Metropolis Performing Arts Center is located at 111 W. Campbell St., Arlington Heights and tickets are $35. Visit www.metropolisarts.com for details.

Catey Sullivan of PioneerLocal.com has a really interesting piece on Michael Ingersoll’s early days and his life today as an actor: At age 21, Michael struck out trying to land a job at both Trader Joe’s and The Gap. Nobody thought he had he personality to work the sales floor. He plowed on, focusing on his career as an actor, making $100 a week working 10-hour shifts doing repertory in Ohio. By 27, his savings were almost gone. His successful college career — marked by academic excellence and continual roles at Miami University of Ohio where he majored in theater — seemed like part of a distant, dubiously relevant past.

Flash forward a year: Ingersoll, 28, is starring as Nick Massi–first in the Jersey Boys national tour, and now in Chicago!

  1. I was at Michael’s show on July 21 … FABULOUS! I hope for the sake of the many who were unable to get tickets for 8/25 that another show (or 2 or 3) will be added!! An unforgettable evening of pure joy :)
