More Reflections from Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio

December 18th, 2006

Dan Taylor of the Press Democrat spoke to the legendary Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio about the Tony Award-winning Jersey Boys, which chronicles the rags to riches story of the Four Seasons.

While the show takes its score right out of the solid gold Four Seasons songbook, its book is taken from the surprisingly dramatic, and previously untold story of Valli and his boys from the ‘hood in Newark. At a press tour stopover in San Francisco last month, Gaudio noted,

I think if you knew nothing about our music, you’d still walk away saying, ‘This is a wonderful show.’

Gaudio, a Bronx native who met the other Four Seasons when he moved to New Jersey, is comfortable with his origins and even prouder of his audience. He stated,

It’s always been blue-collar. That’s who we were. It’s always been working-class, and thank God.
