Audiences Already Going Wild for Jersey Boys in London!

March 6th, 2008

Baz Bamigboye of the Daily Mail has an exciting Jersey Boys London update:

Ryan Molloy, who portrays Frankie Valli in the musical Jersey Boys, which is now in preview at the Prince Edward Theatre. Mr Molloy sings like a dream and accurately conveys Valli’s sense of loyalty spliced with an underlying savviness that has enabled him to survive in showbusiness for six decades. Valli told me that his career was ensured once he did what he termed a “Jersey handshake” with Bob Gaudio, the man who created so many of the hits for the Four Seasons and others. Jersey Boys also stars Glenn Carter, Stephen Ashfield and Philip Bulcock, and all have their moments to shine as the other members of the group. The show’s still being fine-tuned for the official opening night on March 18, but on Wednesday night the audience clearly had a fun time. They even danced along with the encores. I’ll be working my way back to seeing Jersey Boys again – if I can get a ticket!

  2. Went to the show at the Prince Edward Theatre on Friday 7th March 2008.
I was accompanied by my 28 yr old daughter who had “never heard of ” Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons.
Come the interval I asked her “so what do you think ?”
She replied “Mum – everyone knows those songs they are classics – its fantastic !”
The show was awesome – I cannot fault one single thing about it !
Every member of the cast was excellent – especially Ryan Molloy as “Frankie” that voice was wonderful !
I would defy anyone not to be totally blown away by this brilliant, exciting, memorable story !
It was so hard to stay in my seat – I wanted to be up on my feet – dancing and singing along !
It has everything – do yourself a favour – go see it – you won’t be sorry !
