Best Box Office Week EVER for Jersey Boys!

As reported earlier, Jersey Boys had their best week ever at the box office, grossing $1,216,173 and a 100.7% attendance rate for the week ending December 31, 2006!

The box office on Broadway always does well during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, and to no one’s surprise, 2006 did not disappoint. For the week ending 12/31/2006, Broadway grosses totaled $29,137,802 for the 30 shows on the boards.

Below are the Top 10 Grosses from BroadwayWorld.com for the week ending December 31, 2006:

  1. Having been at the box office on the day of the Tonys, I can attest to the fact that tickets for Christmas week, in particular, were just about gone by June 11. The week’s gross reflects those bygone days of bargain prices. Even with those low prices in the first half of 2006, Jersey Boys, housed in the smaller August Wilson Theater, is still the third highest grossing musical of the year… thanks to the guys who put Jersey on the map.
