Thirty-five years ago today, Frankie Valli topped the Billboard Hot 100 with “My Eyes Adored You.” This hit, which brought Valli back to charts after an eight-year absence, was written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan.

On March 13, 1976, “December 1963 (Oh, What a Night)” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three consecutive weeks. This was the first Four Seasons’ Number One song since 1964′s “Rag Doll.”

In 2008, Frankie Valli appeared on “Loose Women,” a British lunchtime television program, to talk about his career and West End JERSEY BOYS.

Thanks to the release of The Four Seasons’ “Motown Years” CD, I’ve become reacquainted with some amazing 1970s recordings by the group. “Hickory” is definitely one of my favorites from this collection. The song, written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Nolan, was released as a single in 1974.

Here’s Frankie Valli’s mid-70′s appearance on “The Midnight Special” with The Four Seasons. “Swearin’ to God,” co-written by Bob Crewe and Denny Randell, peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the summer of 1975.
