Check Out Michael Shultz’s Rendition of ‘Cry For Me’!

February 21st, 2011

This fantastic rendition of “Cry For Me” is performed by Michael Shultz, a recent graduate of the Penn State University Musical Theatre program. Graduating in 2010, Michael has been performing in classic musicals such as “Oklahoma,” “Anything Goes,” and “The Sound of Music” up and down the East Coast. He currently resides in New York.

Michael saw JERSEY BOYS for the very first time in January 2010, but has been listening to the Grammy-winning Original Broadway Cast Recording since the show first opened in 2005. He has loved listening to 50′s Doo-Wop music all his life and absolutely loved the musical.

When he first listened to the album, Michael said was blown away by John Lloyd Young singing Frankie Valli’s track. While singing along in his car, Michael found one of the only songs that wasn’t in the stratosphere was “Cry For Me,” one of his favorite songs. He loves how it starts out simple and then builds on itself with instruments and back-up vocals.

  6. What a fabulous voice he has!! In addition, he’s got the early Bob Gaudio look down pat. Love the back up singers too!
