Coming Soon–Jersey Babys CD!!

February 14th, 2008

By Charles Alexander, Jersey Boys Blog Special Correspondent

Jersey Boys Blog has learned that Rhino Records is now putting the finishing touches on a new release called Jersey Babys: The Music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons for Kids. It contains new instrumental versions of the Seasons’ biggest hits, from “Sherry” to “December 1963 (Oh, What a Night).” While the arrangements are aimed at children, people who have heard snatches of the album think it will be enjoyed by all ages.

The project is a Gaudio family affair. Bob Gaudio’s daughter Danielle Gaudio-Lalehzar had the inspiration for the album and is the Executive Producer. Bob’s son Shannon Gaudio is the Art Director and designed the whole package. (People who’ve seen it say it’s gorgeous.) The new recordings are arranged and produced by Bob Gaudio himself and Robby Robinson, who is Frankie Valli’s musical director. This is first class all the way.

We don’t have a release date yet but will keep you posted. This will make a great present for children and grandchildren. And if you don’t have a kid handy, you’ll want to rent one so you can hear this album.

  1. How fun! My kids already break into Sherry without warning. They may be a bit old for this CD, but I’m sure I’ll have to have one anyway. Thanks for the info.

  2. Thanks again Charles! I grew up with Four Seasons songs from my parents and although my 2 year old enjoys listening to the cast album (and I lower
the volume during the curse words), I will definitely get this CD when it comes out. Gotta start him early, of course! :D

  3. This is so nice to read, Charles. Each of my grandchildren will get one and so will Grandma. There is no one, young and old alike, who is being left out of the Jersey Boys phenomenon. Thanks for posting this, Charles. IE

  4. I have a 2 year old great niece, Allura (basically a grandchild really) and a new great niece, her sister Callie, born this past Wed. 2/13, and they will both receive the cd for sure. Allura loves to dance to the JB cd and I’m sure her little sister will join in. This is great news!!! Thanks for making us aware!

  5. Thanks for posting this, Charles. Anything Bob Gaudio does is first class all the way. I do know that Robby Robinson has a marvelous reputation; Craig Pilo, Frankie’s drummer, thinks the world of him.

  6. Thanks, Charles. This sounds fabulous! I will buy it under the pretense of giving it to one of my nephews, but likely keep it for myself!!

  7. What a marvelous concept! Besides being appropriate for the kids, it could also be used for kareoke (sp/) with the adults! That’s the the scoop and I look forward to its availability.

  8. My grand children love the music especially “Big Girls Don’t Cry”, but I have to skip songs due to the language. I know they will enjoy the new CD.
