Daniel Reichard in Upcoming ‘Forever Plaid’ Film!

August 12th, 2008

Playbill.com reports that a live performance of Forever Plaid — featuring Daniel Reichard (as Francis) was filmed Aug. 7 on a sound stage of Sunset’s CBS Studios for pending movie release.

The cast also featured Tony Award winner David Hyde Pierce as the celestial emcee, Larry Raben (as Sparky), Stan Chandler (as Jinx) and David Engel (as Smudge). Stuart Ross, the creator of the revue that has played worldwide, directed.

Forever Plaid
, according to press notes, takes audiences on a “trip to Fiftiesville with Sparky, Jinx, Smudge and Frankie, a fictional 1950′s boy band. Tragically, and inconveniently struck down before their first big gig, ‘The Plaids’ will be brought back to earth to take the stage one last time.”

This musical is one of my personal favorites (outside of Jersey Boys, of course…)! Congratulations to Daniel on this exciting news!

The information is at http://www.musical.org. I’ll be there. Hope to see you there.
