Des McAnuff to Receive Artistic Visionary Award
January 29th, 2007Christian Hoff reports on his blog that he’ll be away from Jersey Boys through Tuesday because he will be presenting director Des McAnuff with the first ever Des McAnuff Artistic Visionary Award in California.
Each January, the Critics Circle hosts a lavish awards ceremony at which honors are handed out. The number of categories and winners varies, depending on what types of productions opened that year and what work the critics deemed extraordinary.
Christian will speak about the contributions Des has made to the American Theater through his position as Artistic Director at the La Jolla Playhouse. Christian notes that his two Broadway shows originated there: The Who’s Tommy and Jersey Boys. Des has introduced many great plays and musicals including broadway successes and Tony winners at the La Jolla Playhouse.
Christian will return to JB on Wednesday.
