Erich Bergen Performs at the Liberace Museum Tomorrow!
March 24th, 2009
Erich Bergen performs two solo showcases at the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas tomorrow night and April 8 at 7PM! Joe Brown of The Las Vegas Sun recently interviewed Erich, who told Brown that playing Bob Gaudio in JERSEY BOYS inspired him to write songs.
Below is a preview of Brown’s Q&A with Erich:
Q: How do you rate Bob Gaudio as a songwriter?
A: He knew how to write for a specific person. When he heard Frankie Valli’s voice, he heard it as a solo instrument. When he heard Sinatra, Neil Diamond, same thing. He has those ears.
Q: And your songs?
A: This sudden songwriting spurt was absolutely spurred by playing Bob Gaudio. It’s very similar to what happened with Barry Manilow — he wanted to write songs and have other people sing them, and when no one else wanted to do them, he became the performer.
