Friday Flashback: The Four Seasons’ Recordings of Theme Songs for Cousin Brucie & Joey Reynolds!

January 6th, 2012

The Four Seasons were obviously–ubiquitous–on the radio in the 1960s, not only with their own monster hits, but also they recorded theme songs for two major DJ’s: Cousin Brucie & Joey Reynolds! Check out these fantastic jingles!

  1. Susie and Dale,

Thanks!for posting this especially on my birthday. These guys I always looked up to with Love! My role models.
Great! shot of Frankie,Bobby,Nicky and Tommy. They were always very serious when it came to laying out there material. And it sounds like it on the finished product.

Joey Reynolds and his write-up on the back of The 4 Seasons first album “Sherry” was special.
I must try this great cheesecake of yours Joey!

Cousin Brucie is the song I remember being put out there first. A good upbeat theme song. And knowing cousin Brucie and his daughter Page from way back. It was great seeing him at the opening of Jersey Boys in New York. Its nice seeing they are all friends and fans of each other.

Love Nick Massi’s voice on this one “With Cousin Brucie.”

    Love to all,
    Healthy,and Happy New Year!!!

  4. I would imagine that most people became familiar with Joey’s theme song from WKBW Buffalo, which served a good portion of the East Coast at night. I know he used it later and over the years also.

Does anyone remember The Joey Bishop Show on TV using a very similar theme song to Joey Reynolds’? I vaguely remember someone mentioning that, but it was on really late at night, when most of us kids were sleeping. Many of us do remember prime time and radio usage of BGDC related appearances.

Just imagine on January 6th (3 Kings Day!) when the 3 Wisemen followed that Star. My dad always shared that with me growing up.

    Best Always, :)

  6. The musical arrangement for the JOEY REYNOLDS theme is outstanding! Congrats to whoever did it. It is so far ahead of its time in relation to style, instrumentation, and creativity.
