Is Jersey Boys Headed to London?

July 21st, 2006

In today’s Daily Mail, TV & Shobiz columnist Baz Bamigboye talks about the smash hit Jersey Boys in his “Watch out for…” column. Here’s the scoop:

John Lloyd Young and Christian Hoff, who play Frankie Valli and Tommy De Vito in the smashing Broadway musical Jersey Boys.

Michael David, the show’s main producer, told me a while ago that he would love to have the show here next autumn, but all depends on many factors. One is the availability of director Des McAnuff.

Another is which theatre the show will have access to in London. The place they want already has a musical in it and the last I heard, that wasn’t going anywhere. So it’s a question of whether Mr. David and his director would accept another theatre. In any event, it’s all very delicate and, alas, we’ll just have to wait for Jersey Boys. I only hope that when it does come, Mr. Young and Mr. Hoff come with it.

  2. This would be all my Christmas’s rolled into one…I’m in London and it’s what I’ve been waiting for! sorry NY but I really hope at least two of the ‘boys’ make it over here. I would especially love it if JLY came with it.
    Here’s hoping!
