We had a marvelous time chatting with Sarah about “The Apple Sisters” and the trio’s upcoming show!

JBB: So, Sarah, who are “The Apple Sisters” and how did you guys meet?

Sarah Lowe: The Apple Sisters are Kimmy Gatewood, Rebekka Johnson and Sarah Lowe (Me!). We met in NYC at the Peoples Improv Theater where Rebekka and Kimmy were teaching and I was taking a class. (You can find out a little more info on the girls by checking out their bio’s on our website.)

JBB: What inspired you to create “The Apple Sisters” and how did you develop the show?

SL: With Kimmy’s love of the 1940′s, Rebekka’s love of dancing, and my love of musical theatre, we decided to create an old-timey radio style variety show. We previewed our first show on February 14, 2007, and wrote a new show, with new songs and dances every month from that point on for a year. We continued writing new material and took our show to festivals all over the US and ended up being invited to the prestigious “Just For Laughs Festival” in Montreal.

JBB: Can you give us a little “sneak peek” into Friday’s “The Apple Sisters: Thanks for Stuffing” at the Stage Door Theatre in Vegas?

SL: It’s 1943, there’s a war going on, and food is being rationed!! FDR, the President of the United States in coming to “The Apple Sisters” variety show to pardon Gobbly the Turkey…a sexy singing and dancing turkey to be exact. There are some history lessons in this show as well. Visit our website to watch us sing the “Pilgrims/Indian Song”.
