Jersey Boys Is Awesome in Albuquerque!
June 1st, 2013JERSEY BOYS is playing at Popejoy Hall, Center for the Arts, UNM campus through tomorrow and journal staff writer David Steinberg has posted a great review. Here’s a preview:
It’s uncanny how Weinstock’s singing voice recalls Valli’s, right down to the falsetto notes. And Weinstock has the accelerated northern New Jersey Italian-American accent down. Oh, that’s right, he’s from Joisey.
The other three guys in the band – the whole ensemble, for that matter – complement Weinstock/Valli.
A woman sitting in front of me said after the show, “This is just as good as the one I saw on Broadway.” I believe her.
