Jersey Boys Is Magnificent in Miami!

March 6th, 2011

Jersey Boys LogoCritics are giving the thumbs-up to the JERSEY BOYS national tour production in Miami at the Arsht Center. Check out excerpts from the first three reviews:

Chris Joseph, MiamiNewTimes.com: The story’s ups-and-downs, along with the elaborate set pieces, humor, and the band’s recognizable hits interwoven throughout, make for an all-around entertaining show. Even if you’re not into the whole doo-wop thing, The Four Season’s story seems tailor-made for the stage.

Christine Dolen, Miami Herald.com: Jersey Boys is an impressively artful, thrilling piece of musical theater…Though many of these performers have been acting, singing and dancing their way through Jersey Boys for several years now, the cast remains energized and engaged, thoroughly invested in delivering the show’s reliable thrills…Part-musical, part-concert and wholly satisfying, Jersey Boys is both fuel for Baby Boomer nostalgia and great 21st century theater.

Beau Higgins, BroadwayWorld.com: Dear Reader, JERSEY BOYS opened a few nights ago at the Arsht Center. I was not able to attend, so below is the review I filed for JERSEY BOYS when it played South Florida last year. This is a magnificent show. Get your tickets for JERSEY BOYS, playing at the Arsht, now!

Jersey Boys is one of those shows that I feared I might not like. This notion was dispelled about sixty seconds into the show when it caused me to have chills in places that I never knew I could have chills before. This musical is a champion from the top to the final curtain call. Jersey Boys packs wallops on many levels and it keeps ‘letting the audience have it.’
